Female cat needs a Male ?!!
Question: Hello , my cat is about 9 -10 months , and it's making this really annoying sounds all night long ( even during the day ! ) .. anyway , it's making noises plus some weird moves , and it shows like it needs a male , and i was told that it needs 1 .. is bringing a male to make babies the only solution for stopping that sound she makes ?! , or is there any other way to stop it cuz my parents are going crazy .. ! Answer: Go get her spayed. She's most likely in heat. If you bring in a male, you're going to end up with a litter of kittens that will need homes. The best thing you can do for your cat is to get her spayed. Once she's spayed, she won't go into heat, then you won't have these problems. Jennifer Answer: what's "spayed" , and for how long will it take effect ? sorry for my stupid Q, but i'm still a noob at these stuff .. Answer: Spayed is the term for getting her fixed. It's a surgery that the vet will preform so that she can't have babies. Once this is done, she won't go into heat anymore. Jennifer Answer: can you give me please a bit more detailed infoz about this surgery.. is it simple or complicated ? how much does it usually cost .. ? Answer: The surgery involves removing the ovaries and uterus of the cat. The ovaries are the organ that releases the eggs. The uterus is where the eggs attach once they've been fertilized by a male and where the baby kitten grows until it is born. Without these organs the cat can't get pregnant and she won't go into heat. I'm not a vet, so I'm not sure how complicated the surgery is, but it's a routine surgery-they do it all the time. Cost can vary. I think most vet clinics will charge between 100-200 for the surgery. Many humane societies offer low cost or no cost spay/neuter programs. You'd need to call around your area for actual prices. Jennifer Answer: thanx , i really appreciate your help . Answer: please let us know if you got to get her spayed, because it is very important to do it, and you can get it done at the low cost clinic for around 40 dollars. you can also get her vaccs done at a reduced price there too. She will lead a long and healthier life if you do, and you wont have a litter of unwanted kittens to have to find homes for. Keep us posted on her progress and welcome to the group! Answer: Please book your cat in to be speyed ASAP!!! Click here for Ruffdogs Dog Forum! Answer: Yes, you guessed right, what you're describing is your kitty "going into heat", which means she really wants to mate. There may be a heck of a lot of male cats coming around your house soon. The best thing to do is to spay your cat as everyone's suggested, because she won't ever stop, and will do this up to 4 times a year. AND you don't want to have a bunch of kittens on your hands, that you'll have to find homes for. Please convince your parents to get her spayed. It's a quick surgery, you'll see a cut about 2"-3" long, and heals in a few weeks. Usually they can take your kitty in the morning, and pick her up after work. Or you could find a place that does it on weekends. Here's a good thread to start with: . If you don't find anything in that thread, call your local shelter, they should have some places for you to call. Hopefully you can find a place that's free, even. I'm so glad you found this forum, and learning about taking care of your cat. Good luck, and keep us posted, ok? Answer: metallicaband....I'm glad you're interested in doing what's best for your kitty. Until you can, please BE SURE you don't let her get outside, or you will be a parent of a litter of kittens!! Answer: Check the Cat Forums "Cat Chat" for info on low cost spay and neuter options in your area. Or check with a shelter in your area for more info. I have two 7 month old females who just got spayed 2 weeks ago. I brought them early in the AM and was able to pick them up at dinnertime. They had pre-surgical bloodwork done and were anesthetized for the procedure. They had their tummies shaved and had a few stitches which needed to be removed 10-14 days later. We tried to keep them quiet for a few days which is nearly impossible with kittens. But, we did keep them in a separate room from our other cat for the first couple of days, and any time we left the house until the stitches were removed. The procedure is routine and will result in a healthier, happier cat. Answer: Well not by the fixed male, but it only takes her getting out one time while in heat and she'll get pregnant. Plus a female in heat is really not somthing most people enjoy being around Jennifer Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
