I have a very needy kitty this week
Question: <bleary-eyed> Assumpta has been an unbelievably needy, psycho and bratty cat this week. Two days in a row, she woke me up at 4AM for breakfast by sitting perched on my head with her claws out (that's a new one for her), and running full-speed around the bedroom, occasionally bouncing on me to see if I was awake yet. She's been ravenously hungry, too (more so than usual, I mean)....she's been downright mean about getting her dental chews, absolutely nuts. So last night I sat up until midnight so that her bedtime snack would be later than the usual 9PM, and hurrah...she didn't wake us up until 6AM. Which was fine until 6:07, when she finished her breakfast and got lonesome...sat at the bottom of the stairs and cried (the famous "I'm gonna throw up" meow) until I came downstairs to sit with her. Usually, if I call to her, she either comes back upstairs or realizes that we're still in the house and goes off to do her important cat business. But this morning, she was inconsolable until she had company. She has, as usual, needed to be in the same room as me all week, but she's been doing things like sitting on the back of the couch and periodically tapping me on the head with her paw, leaning down and meowing in my ear, and walking back and forth all over me. She does this stuff occasionally, and it's always temporary (a lot of the time, it's a little too much fur in the tummy that does it), but it makes for very long days when you're being awakened by claws in your scalp at 4AM and being pestered for attention all the time. Hmm...I see that "Casablanca" is on at 3PM today...one of Assumpta's favorites, maybe that'l make her feel better....well, that and the laxatone she's been getting. Better yet, maybe if she's caught up in Ingrid Bergman, I can get a nap...... Answer: The communications between here and the Cat Planet have been down spike481 Herdmaster of 14 Cats & 2 Dogs "Ever tried to herd cats?" Answer: I think that is great! I can picture her tearing through the bedroom at warp speed! hehehee Answer: Ours have been extra needy this week too... but at least that means Bumpy is back on the bed, I miss him when he doesn't sleep with me (even if it means I get less sleep). Mine were so bad bickering yesterday they had to be separated into separate rooms until they calmed down (jealous that one gets an extra rub or 2 seconds more play time etc) Answer: Hmmmm, maybe it is the time of year or the weather or something? My princess of a tabby cat has also been needy this past week... I was chalking it up to my long hours at work but possibly there is a major cat planet communications error! Answer: Sully had been exceptionally vocal and needy this week. And he doesn't come to me I have to go upstairs to give him attention. He just paces and cries. icklemiss21 wrote: Mine were so bad bickering yesterday they had to be separated into separate rooms until they calmed down (jealous that one gets an extra rub or 2 seconds more play time etc) Wow, mine too..what is going on here? Angel has actually been initiating the fighting rather then Tasha picking on Angel and Tasha has been fighting with Sully...I can't remember the last time I had a good nights sleep Answer: Wow, this is getting a little wierd. I was just telling my boyfriend how weird Tuner and Gracie had been acting. Usually Gracie is the vocal one but lately Tuner has been whining and meowing and growling a lot lately. They also usually sleep through the whole night but lately they wake me up in the middle of the night because they are wrestling and running into things and knocking stuff over. I wonder if it is just the time of the year Answer: Okay, that's it, there's some kind of erie invisible energy force that's possessed some of our kitties My old gal of 15, who hasn't moved faster than a trot for years, suddenly took off running down the hall & back, jumped on the rug like she had trapped a bug or animal & then proceded to jump on the back of the rocker to make it spin. Very strange indeed. judy Answer: squee is ALWAYS a terror, so it's not the weather or anything..... Answer: There was a full moon on Thursday......... **Lenore** Cats are our inspiration, comfort and joy. No matter what we do, they're always there. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
