More litterbox issues
Question: Recently, my cat has stopped using the litterbox. Instead, she goes outside. The neighboring house has been built and moved into a while ago, and their entire backyard is basically a garden-though not much is growing in it yet. Well, my cat has started going to the bathroom in their yard. Which isn't a "good neighbor" thing to do, eh. So she has started to do this in our yard too. How do I get her to stop this habit and use the litterbox again? Answer: Well, mine are inside only, so I don't have any direct experience. However I do know people who have had success keeping cats out of gardens by throwing citrus rinds down. Lemon, orange, grapefruit, ect.... If it's only specific area you want to keep her out of, this might work. Jennifer Answer: ^I would try some of those tricks but if that doesn't work then she might have to stay inside. I can't see trying to control where the cat "goes" when she is outside. Good luck! ~Lisa Answer: There is a plant that gives off a smell that cats hate. I don't know....you'd need a lot for a whole backyard. But here it is: http://plants.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/product/2131/1?SA=1303 Answer: Well, I know this won't help you but I have to add that, I let my "indoor" cats out when I'm in the yard. It's all enclosed and they are content to stay inside the yard, chewing grass and chasing flies. They can be outside with me for HOURS, but all 4 will come in and make a beeline to the litter box. They just don't get it! My kitties keep me sane Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
