Concern about my kitten
Question: My kitty isn't reall drinking a lot of water and I'm getting a little worried...is their any technique or method to make her drink more water? Any advice will help thanks! -Jeremy Answer: What are you feeding her? If you feed wet food, you automatically get some water in her. Experiment with different water. In many areas tap water is not good. Use bottled water. You might try a regular and a spring version. If none of this works there are actually now flavorings (such as salmon or tuna) you can add, but I would doubt any of those would become necessary. Answer: kittens tend to love running water. BUT If she's really dehydrated (and not getting her fluids through another source) there might be a medical issue, so please check with your vet to rule that out if her behavior has changed or she seems out of sorts. If all else is good, try running water: the poor man's version: turn on the tap (to a constant drizzle-- nothing more) and let her drinnk straight from that. Cats LOVE this. Or, if you have the money and the space, invest in a fountain-waterer. I think they're about $70, and they cycle water through a filter as they provide continuous running water for your cat's drinking pleasure... Good luck! Answer: I have a drinkwell for my kittens and they love it I even caught them playing in the running water lol I would say it has made my kittens drink more Sharon and the fur gang Answer: Indeed, the drinkwell fountains, dribbling water from the tap, a bubbler - they all encourage kitty to drink more water. My boy never was crazy about hanging around the water cooler until I bought a kitty water fountain. Now, he loves it! When I clean it, he stands by and WAITS for me to hurry up and put it back together for him. Cheers, Nancy E. Wigal Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
