Question:
So the whole reason we fell in love with Andi was that she would lick my husband's hair whenever we visited her at the humane society. We brought her home and she got a respitory infection and stopped. She is better now and she's been better for about 3-4 months. Anyways, this week she started to bite my hair and "eat" it.
I'm glad that she's gotten back into licking my husband's hair, but she'll bite mine and pull it out of my ponytail. Is she grooming me or something? Is she trying to save all the lil hairs to build a winter nest? lol! Whenever I ask her "Hey, what are you doing?" she'll lean up against my head and purr real loud like "Nothing momma, I'm just making your hair pretty for you... bite gnaw yank lick lick"
But is this a natural behavior or should I be concerned about something here? heehee.

Callie used to do the same thing with the biting my head and licking my hair when I came back from the hairdressers. I think she was attracted to the scent of the stuff they put in it, combined with wanting to re-mark me as hers since I smelled so different. She also used to lick around my hairline at my temples at night when I went to bed...appeared to be a grooming effort to me.
So anyway...I don't think a lot of cats do it, but it's not totally weird behavior
