personality
Question: I read on one site that the bahaviour of your cat depends on the breed or wether its a pedigree or not. But surely, it mainly depends on personality and how they are looked after? Do cats suddenly turn on you if theyve had enough stroking etc? My black cat did when I was little, but then she was always jealous. My dad bought her and her brother (who was soooo nice) back from work one day cos Sheba (black one) was in a bag tied up about to be drowned and her brother Forpence (black and white) was just wandering around. My dad took them in and mum had to hand feed Sheba cos she was the runt of the litter. When I was born my mums dog Deedee protected me constantly and wouldnt leave my side but Sheba went mad with jelousy and always scrammed me as I got older. I never stopped loving her though. Anyway away from the ranting, are tabbys a pedigree? or does it only mean expensive cats like persians and russian blues etc? Life is what you make it Answer: The breed of cat and the temperament of the parents definitely play into a cat's personality, but of course there are exceptions to every rule. So you can't count on a cat's personality being what is stereotypical for the breed. Cats can get over stimulated by petting, you need to learn your cats signs and back off when you see them or risk getting a nip or scratch. It's not jealousy, it's just part of their make-up Tabby is not a breed, it's a coat pattern. Always remembering Onyx & Callie May Answer: My cat's personality is nothing like a typical "Birman" - but she's really coming into her own and I'm so very much enjoying seeing her blossom. Sometimes, she just wants to be near me, she doesn't want to be petted. If I feel like giving her attention and she doesn't seem to be responding, I feel her neck, and if she's not purring, I just go back to what I was doing and just let her be. Answer: some cats are very breed typical while others are not...my Annie is a british shorthair...and she is the most typical british shorthair i have ever met. my cousin has a female and male blue british shorthairs and they are just as typical...they all act exactly the same and look exactly the same with the only difference in coat color. Meanwhile you never know quite what your going to get with a mixed breed/moggie/DSH,DMH,DLH We can only speculate that sophie is a cross breed that came from the backyard bengal breeders because my friends were on the same street when the man told them to "take her or else" and she is large and very muscular with a loud mouth and has a strange affinity to water. she thinks shes a queen and is the most demanding cat i have ever met...but then again, its only a speculation. Cats are like people in many ways....just because they are one thing doesnt mean your not gunna get something that acts exactly the opposite...its like expecting asian people to keep their heads in books and white people to live in trailers...LOL *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Cait Thank you ForJazz!!!!! Answer: I always get told that one of my cats is highly strung as she has some oriental in her?? However I think it is because she was taken from her Mum too early at 5 weeks, and never learnt a lot of cat behavior from playing with the litter. Answer: I've heard calico cats were very high-strung and Shadow is a brindle calico cat and she is INSANE!!! But that just may be her personality but I still think she's bipolar Tiger: ???-6/22/2007 R.I.P. OWNED by Smara and Shadow Avatar Caption: Everyone wants Kitten-Fu Fighting!
