Black cats

Question:
Are black cats more aggressive and difficult than others? I've had 3 in my life and they have all seemed like they have a bad attitude. Is this true?
Answer:
I don't think colours matter. Denzel is so friendly and loving, he's never aggressive.
Answer:
My black kitty has more of an attitude than my other two, but I think it is because he was first and thus more spoiled. I have seen lots of mean black kitties, but I have also seen very sweet black cats. They are no more ill tempered than any other color as coat color and temperament are not genetically linked
I do know that black cats are not as adoptable because of the negative connotation of the color black... not fair, but true.

Answer:
Actually, Mischief Mistoffolees is the MOST laid back of my entire tribe. He is the very first to make friends with new cats, was the first to make peace with the dog, and acts as big brother and mentor to any kittens that happen to show up. He talks, he chitters, and is basically a big love muffin.

I guess I've just come across the realy mean ones The one I have now, Guinnie, was the sweetest little thing when we first got him, he was 2 months old and all of a sudden in the last month he's been hissing and growling a lot for no reason at all. Any one know what might be wrong. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Is it just something he's going through and will get over it? or is it something they go through as they grow up? I don't know, anyone please help.
Answer:
If it's a sudden and drastic personality change, I'd recommend a vet visit to rule out physical causes...a cat who's uncomfortable or in pain can be really nasty.
Also, is he neutered? Intact male cats can be rather aggressive (and smelly )
Answer:
My black cat does have a bit more of an attitude then my other, but that may be because she is a lot older. I dont really think coat color matters... you get a lot of variaty in attitudes in every kitty

Answer:
Lewis, is pretty much black and is the most laid back, sweetest kitty you could imagine. Marcellus is black and does have an attitude but I don't think it's his coat color, I think it is a result of his being born by a feral mother. I don't think coat color matters. Aren't black cats beautiful though? Maybe that's where the attitudes come from.
Mom to Marcellus, Wallace, Lewis, Winston and Corky, our dog.

I appreciate all of the responses I've been getting guys, thanks a lot. It's helping. I should take him to the vet just to make sure he isn't sick. Does anyone know exactly what kind of exam he needs just to narrow it down to something or what they do?
