Sadie has me pulling my hair out...

Question:
Any suggestions on getting Sadie to chill out with Misty? Ever since I got Misty, Sadie has been growling, hissing, and swatting at EVERYTHING! Actually, ever since Oliver died she's been acting funny. I keep the kitten away from Sadie, and Sadie has the rule of the house except my room and the den. Sadie won't even stay in the house except to eat and take a nap, then it's to the door, growling and making unpleasant meows. I tried to love on Sadie, but she attacked me, I tried to feed her treats....EVEN TUNA FISH, but she wouldn't take it from my hand. Even after I get out of the shower and no longer have Misty's scent on me, she won't let me come near her. She's turned into a real hermit.
I'm so sad. If only Oliver was still alive, none of this would have ever happened. Sadie would still be sweet and playful, Misty would have just gone to another home, and I would still have my precious Oliver.

Answer:
Has Sadie really had a chance to meet Misty, because you said that you kept them apart. She might know that there is another kitten in the house but she never really sees it. This might be frustrating for her. If you introduce the two they could learn to tolerate each other or even get on!
As for the disturbed behaviour, she's probably confused and upset after the death of her friend and on top of that a new arrival. I know you said that she won't come near you but gradually 're-introduce' yourself to her. Try to take out some 'Sadie time' every day - time specially to spend with her, so she knows you are still the same caring loving owner. I'm not trying to sound like an expert animal behaviourist or anything, because I'm not! But that is just my advice. Good luck with them!

Answer:
Sadie and Misty have both had encounters...planned and unplanned. I don't know why, but when Sadie is outdoors, she's just the sweetest thing! Also, today I started whistling to her because she loves whistles. She started purring so I stopped whistling, then she started growling again so I whistled til my lips were chapped!
