Safe topical disinfectant?

Question:
Is there a topical disinfectant that can be used on cats? I know that regular Neosporin (not the 3-in-1) is okay for rabbits and guinea pigs...
I know you're all thinking 'so take the cat to the vet!', but it's not really practical on a few levels. The cat in question is a stray, one of nearly 20 strays and ferals that I feed. He gets in fights with the other males, and comes in all banged up. He loves being touched and has shown interest in coming to live with me, but I already have birds, so I can't take him in, and there's not a no-kill shelter near me. I'm trying to find a home for him, but in the meantime I have no real choice but to leave him outside, and there's no way I'd be able to afford to take him to the vet every time he decides to get into a tussle out there.
So anyway, is Neosporin safe for them? If not, is there anything that is?
Answer:
Yes -Neosporin is safe to use on a cat.

Answer:
Good. Thanks.
Answer:
It says "for exterior use only" but my vet says the amount ingested from licking is so small that it won't hurt. I've used it with no problems. The main ingredient is white petrolatum, the same ingredient in some hairball remedies.
And 3-in-one topical antibiotic is OK, too.
