cat very sick
Question: I have a cat who is very sick and the vet doesn't know what is wrong. She is 8 months old, spayed and in good health. She became lethargic and then the next day I brought her to the emergency hospital. She had 104.5 fever. The vet didn't know what was wrong so he gave her some antibiotic, steroid and medication to break the fever. Next morning no change so I brought her to my vet. He discovered that she had some type of intestinal problem and hospitalized her right of way. That was Wednesday. This morning he still doesn't know what it is. He's running blood work. The good news is her fever broke yesterday, but she still has blood discharge from her rectum. He's giving her supportive care, fluids, flagyl, antibiotic, sterioids, etc. Anyone experience an undiagnosed illness such as this? Answer: I hope the bloodwork will give you some answers. Otherwise, she will need diagnostic work - ultrasound/xrays eg. Keep us updated. Click here for Ruffdogs Dog Forum! Answer: I'm going to try to get an appt. with a feline specialist tomorrow. Hopefully he'll have some answers before it's too late for Freckles. She's looking pretty bad right now. Breaking my heart to see her so ill. I'm not so sure it's FIP. Not after what I've read anyway. It's something very bad though and I pray I'll find an answer and treatment before it's too late. Please keep sending me your ideas and thoughts on this matter. Answer: can't offer much but hugs and prayers! Let us know what you find out. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/dmcwlvssr/temp%20pics/Freesiasig.jpg http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
