I think so...It's been really interesting to watch the kittens grow up together, especially with their mom in the same house. My dad says it's a truly unique experience to see how a family group interacts. Miko and Stephanie act as siblings in every respect, but Scully often acts as a sibling too. As the kittens have gotten older, she's taken less of the responsible, mothering role, and is now more like the playful buddy. And they seem to look to her less as their "mom" too: the kittens have started instigating play fights (Steph has tackled and rolled Scully a few times), and Miko even hissed at Scully for trying to steal her food, something that they never would have done before. I don't know how things will evolve as the kittens grow out of a need for the matronly position Scully fills. But, as you can see, sometimes she reverts back to her mommy-instincts and gives them a good bath (on the same note, when Scully was reunited with her girls after being spayed, they were crying to her and she licked their faces all over). Of course, Scully is barely out of the kitten stage herself, at a young one year old. So even though she was an exceptional mom, I don't think she's a whole lot more mature than they are.

I have a cat who is the mother to three of my other cats - she no longer mothers them, and actually just sort of gets annoyed by them - when she's exceptionally irritated, she'll bop them over the head.
One of my other cats though, a male, is SOOOO sweet to all the other cats, and cleans them all - he actually will pin them down with one paw, so he can do a proper cleaning!
