Country Kitties
Question: Today I went to Ohio's Amish Country to have lunch as well as buy meats and cheeses. When I was at one cheese house, there was a small litter of 4-6 month old kittens (I stink at estimating ages of kittens) along with their mother. I saw 4 cats not counting the mom. They were just too cute to ignore! The mother is the all grey cat. She appeared to be pregnant yet again. He left rear leg wwas injured and the actual foot appears to have been severed. Yet she has no problems getting around nor running. Before I left, Momma Cat even let me pet her and scratch her cheeks. But these kittens as well as the mother were so adorable! Don Answer: The little white and black kitties are sooooooooo cute! Answer: Aww, very cute family! Thank you, Doodlebug! Answer: One of the kittens was even playing with my hand as I stuck it through the sides of the gazebo. One of the kittens was a bit leery of me and ran a few feet away, but the rest did let me pet them a little bit. Don Answer: They are adorable! Quite the life for them out in the country. You take very nice photos, Donald! Owned by Pepper and Pumpkin RIP Snickers 8/22/00 -- 11/28/06 http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/ Answer: lymekaps wrote: They are adorable! Quote: You take very nice photos, Donald! Thank you, Lisa! Granted with it being overcast, I should have set the camera to vivid color mode to get more oomph into the scenes. I need to go find the photos I took last year and scan them. There is a little display garden next to the cheese house. In it, there is a beautiful fountain along with miniature Swiss cottages. The cats, as explained by the one employee, have been keeping shelter in one of the mini buildings. Don Answer: Very cute!! They probably have quite a nice life there. So are the kitties and I'm happy to hear they are being taken care of by the people around there ~Km~ Answer: Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cute kitties Sharon and the fur gang Answer: sweet kitties, they are all so beautiful Answer: The are cute! That cheese factory is gonna end up with one hell of a colony of cats unless someone takes responsibility for them though... Click here for Ruffdogs Dog Forum! Answer: emma_pen wrote: The are cute! That cheese factory is gonna end up with one hell of a colony of cats unless someone takes responsibility for them though... Those are my thoughts too, Emma. However, with this being in farmland, maybe the cats will be somewhat useful in keeping mice away. But still, if the mother is getting pregnant often, there WILL be a problem. Another thing Emma is that the factory, while being in the country, is close to the road. The display garden is just behind a parking lot which is directly off the road. I am concerned for the kitties. Don Answer: I am so sad to hear of the MaMa cats leg....if that becomes infected....she will eventually die. Her body will not be able to sustain another pregnancy and heal the wounds without vet care. Donald....your pictures floor me as always! My personal favorite is the very first one....I just know if you were to submit that to the Purina cat calendar....it would win as a submission! They do a calender every year. You should snoop around for the link. ~~~Dawn~~~ Answer: BoscosMum wrote: I am so sad to hear of the MaMa cats leg....if that becomes infected....she will eventually die. It looked well healed to me. Maybe this was taken care of some time ago and the mother cat had its wound tended to here. But there was absolutely no sign of infection. Everything looked as if it was fully healed. Maybe the cat was injured and a vet amputated the injury. My aunt used to have a Labrador Retriever. His right rear paw was severely injured and his paw had to be amputated. It healed up very nicely. So since I had seen a paw amputation before, this is why I feel that mommy's paw received medical attention. Lastly, it could have been a birth defect... Don Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
