Who has home constructed pet cages?

Question:
I hope this is where I can post this.
I was wondering out of curiosity, who has made their pets cages?
Any pics?
I always love to see home made things

Answer:
I have 2 cages that we built.. there are pictures on here somewhere of them... I will see if I can find them for you!!!!

Answer:
Half my cages are homemade and half are store bought. I much prefer the homemade. I love my melamine ones...so easy to clean! I have posted pics on here too but can't remember when.

Answer:
Oh thats so cool!
I have a rat cage I made, I really want to redo it as I got too excited and constructed it and kinda forgot to make it look nice.
I left the sides with space so the ratties can climb all over from level to level and on the left side I also made ramps for them so I didnt have to make holes in the floor.
In the pic you can see Mowgli running in the wheel.

Answer:
I am not sure what type of cages that you are wanting to see-
This is "Possum's cage- which is a sterlite bin with all the gun stuff added in- you just have to use a drill to make airholes in the lid- or some people cut the lid out and place screen in. It is a very cheap alternative to expensive cages with small floorspace and lots of tubes and levels- as syrian hamsters usually grow too big for tubes- AND as they get older, and cannot climb well- they should have as much floorspace to move around as possible. I have spent a lot of money on fancy colorful cages before learning this.
My syrian, Gillette has one similar, but I don't have a picture of it.
This is the C&C cage I built for Dexter, who is no longer with us It is now dismantled. I plan to make a rat cage out of it eventually by doubling the grids to make the opening smaller- someday when I find a rat breeder, that is.
