You may or may not have heard about Guzoo animal farm in Three Hills Alberta. Guzoo animal farm is a roadside zoo in Alberta, and has been called by WSPA and Zoocheck one of the worst zoos in Canada.
I have visited it Three times and the conditions have been appalling. There were dead animals littering the cages, rotten carcasses being fed to carnivores, an emaciated pig living in a pile of wonderbread wrappers, Starving cats nursing malnourished kittens and even a hidden puppymill in the back. The Guzoo website is full of lies. They claim to be a sanctuary, while in actuality, they are a death trap for the animals that end up there. They even went as far as to say that all of there basset hounds are rescues, but they supply petstores with Basset Puppies! When I came home from the zoo, I was covered in Fleas. I was just visiting one of their websites, and I found out that They have teamed up with Chapters to get donations. I highly doubt that anyone from chapters has visted this HellHole so I doubt that they know what they are supporting.
PLEASE EMAIL CHAPTERS and tell them about this zoo. Tell them that you won't be supporting chapters until they withdraw their support. We need to get Guzoo shut down and my animal rights group and I have been working hard for years to do this. Chapters support of Guzoo has pushed us down a notch, and we NEED YOUR HELP.

I am going to come out of lurking here to inquire about this injust treatment of animals. I went through the website at chapters and didn't see anywhere on there they they are asking for donations...could you please show me the page before I write to them. Also is it a free zoo? You stated that you were there 3 times....why did you support them by going back? Did you call the SPCA and take someone with you?
Anyway it is gross the way they are treating these animals and when you show me that chapters is actually supporting them I will be happy to write to them and ask them to look into it.

For the record, it's better to support your small independent & possibly secondhand) bookstore anyway, rather than continuing to support big nasty Chapters....
