Pet Gift Baskets

Question:
Hi, I am new to this forum, and am a pet lover.
I am currently starting a business which specilizes in gift baskets for pets.
And I would like to get some input and opinions from other pet lovers.
1- Would you consider buying a gift basket for your pet?
2- What kind of theme would you most consider when buying a gift basket. Ex. Birthday, New Arrival, Play Time.
3- What would you expect from the overall content of the gift basket?
4- How much would you be willing to pay for a gift basket?
Thank you for your time and opinion.
Mike

Answer:
I think you could charge an array of amounts. What's in the basket would determine the cost. If the basket was set up as a "new animal" basket, then the cost might be higher as they would possibly be more items. You should also plan for different budgets. While you may find many people willing to pay $50, some may only be able to afford $20. They could be essentially the same basket, but one could have "sample" sizes, while the other full sized merchandise. I think having themes for all holiday seasons (esp. Christmas) is good. And it's easy to change the ribbon on a basket to suit the season. Birthday's would be especially popular I'm sure.HTH

I might consider paying more for a gift basket if it were pet and owner oriented- and then would make a good gift to a relative or friend with a pet. As far as giving a gift to an animal, though- they don't care how it's wrapped- and my puppy would just as soon have the empty toilet paper role you just changed than any of hte doggy toys I've bought him.

That's a cool idea! I sent announcements out to friends and family when we got Oliver and was annoyed that only 1 person (my husband's mom) sent a congratulations and Petco gift card. Do you know how many baby showers I've been to?!
Anyway, New Arrival, Birthday, and Just Because would be great occasions. I'd actually pay up to $40 for a cool gift basket. Healthy treats and balls with bells are cute, maybe kitty scarves, or a photo frame could be cool.
My only hesitance to gift baskets is that though they are very classy, they always seems stuffy. Not everyone likes cream and beige. Some of us like red and black. Being able to to personalize anything is always a plus with me.

Answer:
1- Would you consider buying a gift basket for your pet?
Yes
2- What kind of theme would you most consider when buying a gift basket. Ex. Birthday, New Arrival, Play Time.
I think all different kinds would be nice. Birthday, Christmas, Grooming themed, toy themed, new pet, etc.
3- What would you expect from the overall content of the gift basket?
I would expect whatever the baskets theme is.
4- How much would you be willing to pay for a gift basket?
It would all depend, like if I was buying a birthday or christmas one probably around $20-30 but if I were taking in a new pet I'd be willing to spend $100 or so.

Answer:
No offense, but I don't get the whole gift basket thing. I would not pay more just to have my pet items wrapped in plastic, sitting in a basket w/ a bow on top.

Answer:
1- Would you consider buying a gift basket for your pet?
I wouldn't buy a gift basket for my own pet, but I would consider buying a gift basket for a friend's pet on special occasions.
2- What kind of theme would you most consider when buying a gift basket. Ex. Birthday, New Arrival, Play Time.
Birthdays, new arrivals and anniversaries.
3- What would you expect from the overall content of the gift basket?
Good quality products that use natural and wholesome ingredients, e.g. Old Mother Hubbard biscuits, home-baked treats, Benny Bully treats, brands like Solid Gold, Nature's Variety, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul etc. In terms of toys, brands like Kong, Tire Biter etc.
(I have a dog so I am thinking in terms of dog products)
4- How much would you be willing to pay for a gift basket?
Depending on the size and product. If I like the brands in the gift basket and I know that they are good quality brands then I would be willing to pay more for it. I will not pay top dollar for 'no name' brand products in a gift basket.

1.Yes
2. Christmas or birthday
3. variety of treats and a few toys and unigue things you wont find anywhere else.
4. Well, I'd be willing to pay $20-$40 dollars per basket depending on the quality

Answer:
Im sure it would just depend on what you put into each basket as to how much they would cost.... and would the basket be able to be used for the animal?? example of a chinchilla getting a basket that they can chew on???

Answer:
I think they are a great idea to use for pet sitters (atleast my pet sitters b/c mine do not take money b/c they are friends).....I would pay b/w $20-30.
