Do Animals Have Personalities?
Question: Duh, do they even need to shell out cash to do a study on something that obvious? :b There was also a good show on just how much intelligence animals had, and though it was a three part series and I missed half of it, it was pretty awesome to see just *how* intelligent animals really are. At least they never questioned if the animals were intelligent, just *how* intelligent they are. Anyone who doesn't know animals have personalities of their own has never owned a pet and truly loved it. You get close to anything and you'll learn all about it. Answer: OH geesh anyone with a dog could tell you they do lol. I can tell you how diffrent Grizzly's personality differes from Shadow's in every way. Answer: Yes, most certainly animals have personalities and FEELINGS! There are people who believe animals such as cats and dogs have personalities but when you tell them chinchillas have personalities they are shocked. Just because it is a small animal doesn't make it less of an animal. Answer: These scientists were probably paid a government grant to discover this, I'll bet! When it is quite an obvious fact, duh! Ask any pet owner...sheesh I can't believe it! Answer: Sasha definately has a personality..and she gets her feelings hurt quite easily,,, weve never had to reall yever punish Sasha,,you just have to raise your voice and she gets depressed,,and will grab her monkey and go sulk in her chair this one time,,,,I WAS FURIOUS WITH CRAIG and I didnt talk to him for 2 days afterwards for this but I will tell you Sasha got out on me one night at 1 in the morning, I had just come home from babysitting and everyone was in bed, well when she got out i came downstairs and told Craig and he was extremly mad, he went out and tried to get her and he couldnt, he tried for over an hr andhe had to work the next day,,I told him to bait her with raw liver we had in the freezer he said no it wouldnt work,,so finally he gave up and went to bed,,, I got the liver out and within minutes I had Sasha in the house, before i even got downstairs., I heard Craig beating her,,I was so mad,,I flew down the hall and started screaming at Craig,,for one thing she is MY dog,,,,he has no right toouching her for another thing I told him NEVER EVER beat her when she come sin the house if she gets out,,next time she gets out she wont come in cause she knows she'll get beaten,,,,,,needless to say Craig and I went to sleep mad at each other the next day Sasha wouldnt eat, she wouldnt drink, she wouldnt even go outdoors for a pee,,she looked so sad all day,...when CRaig came home from work she didnt even get up, Itold Craig go talk to her, i told him how she was acting, he got nthe couch with her. talked to her, apolagized to her...kissed her and started playing.....as soon as she seen he wasnt upset with her anymore she was right back to her old self,,.,,but when she knew someone was mad, she was so upset I hate it when people say animals dont have feelings Answer: Man, they could have saved the cash and hopped a plane to Memphis, they would have seen all the pet personality they could handle at my house Answer: Gah ... all these researches and statiscal surveys ... all a waste or money I find ... "Do animals have personalities?" ... probably the same people who did the test (and I heard it on the radio) that 14% of all left handed people are gay ... Animals probably have as much diversity in personalities as humans (maybe a tad exageration) ... but it doesn't help when you have the media portaiting the *ideal* personality constantly as well ... All they have to do is watch discovery channel ... on any animal documentary ... especially regarding new babies ... there is always a difference in personalities between the largest *alpha* baby and the runt ... Answer: there is always a difference in personalities between the largest *alpha* baby and the runt Yes, but many will argue that it is behavior...not personality. Behavior can be linked back the brain which has been shaped by evolution and thus, the "behavior" of the alpha baby is only an adaption...blah...blah...blah Answer: My Kali has the biggest heart and personality...you can't tell me it is behavior that she will hang her head and sulk sheepishly when she can't go somewhere with us. You can't just call it behavior when she understands the difference between a normal baby and a Down's baby and becomes more protective even towards her "daddy" then she does around women with a Down's baby or child. You can't tell me it is behavior that she had no problem with a male dog she hadn't seen in over a year climbing in the welping box and leaving him in there with her 3 week old puppies but a dog she had been living with and playing with, she wouldn't let near them because he is clumsy! Phil, my beige chin often acts like a dog for attention by dragging toys along the sides of his cage, carrying chew blocks around in his mouth and "sitting pretty" when he wants attention! If THAT was behavoir, my other chins would do the same...and they don't act like that when THEY want attention! Answer: I'm not telling you anything! Just giving the other perspective. I have known and studied under several professors who run experiments on animals...that is what some of them would say. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
