Miko lost his battle

Question:
Our dearest little Miko lost his battle with the strange illness that has plagued him for the last year and a half. He passed peacefully this last early monday morning in our arms. I haven't been able to talk about it yet as with all the things that have happened in our family lately it just seemed to be too much to handle.
Miko our sweet little sugarglider has been suffering with stomach ailments for some time now and the vet concluded it was a cronic condition similar to an ulcer but in the end it claimed his life.
I had been nursing him along with meds and contant assisted feeding and sub q fluids. Back and forth to the vet many many times over the last month. All was going well and he has starting to come around but he developed complications with his bowel and was just too weak to fight any more.
Miko we morn your loss and will love you always. You will never be forgotten. Miko was laid to rest in our pond garden under the shade of a miniature evergreen tree. A bleeding heart plant was placed over his grave.

Thank you everyone for your concern. Our little Miko was such a trouper. We would have done anything we could to make him well. My son and I both spent many nights sitting up with him, coaxing him to eat and drink, keeping him warm and cuddling with him. We will never forget how special he was.
