Mousy's favorite time of year- when it's cool enough to have the window's open. There's a huge oak right out there and she has made herself a squirrelfriend. Conner got in on the action, too.
Conner is 5months old now, 46lbs, and very spoiled. He has given up his bed for OUR beds- or the sofa. He's still a big baby- loves to sleep cradled in your arms (and putting your arm to sleep in the meantime!)

The girl child, in true Dr. Dolittle fashion, has befriended an anole- these guys run wild around here and this one came in her window and she put it in a keeper. Immediately, he ate a live cricket out of her fingers. We set him up with a UVB light and honestly, I was just sort of waiting and seeing how he would do before spending more money. Today, when she was having trouble finding a cricket, she decided to let him go. (we think it's a boy- has the red dewlap) She took him outside, sat down to watch him make his way back into the big wide world. He drank some water puddled on a leaf, and then turned and climbed onto her hand and up her arm. So- I guess it's the age-old adage, If you set it free and it comes back to you...
So, meet Vileaoh (don't know where THAT name came from- don't want to ask, either) I guess we will have to set him up a proper tank now- I've tried to get pics of him while he's brown, but apparently, having his picture taken makes him happy, and he always turns green again!!!!

he he- pretty nasty, huh? When she yawns big like that- sticking her butt and her nose up in the air- her ears will completely fold up and disappear into the dip the tendons in her neck make when she has her head all the way back. The dark stuff is the spots on her ears- and you can kind of make out the roundness of where her eyes are in front of that. It's all made to look worse, because she has stretched the skin on the sides of her neck tight, and the skin on top of her head wrinkles up. That's not as nasty as what she looks like scruffed- she looks like a sailfish- but it makes her eyes pop out so we only tried that once!
