Pet Store Blunder

Question:
I went to the pet store today as I usually do whenever I go to the mall.
But today when I went in the food dish that was in a hamster cage contained something that looked like dog food and there was a gerbil (i think) cage that didn't have a food dish or food.
I don't know if the stuff in the hamster cage was a special type of hamster food or if the owner was planning to put a food dish in later on in the day but I was wondering if anyone could give some suggestions on what I should do.

Answer:
Ask to talk to the manager or owner and inform him/her of what you saw and ask questions. I think you need a bit more information from the store before you can assume what they were doing was wrong.
If they end up being in the wrong, offer them info on proper diet and care. If they continue to treat their animals poorly, that's when I would get the local animal shelter invovled.

Answer:
thanx, I'll go back to pet store tomorrow and I'll ask some questions.

Answer:
Just curious but is this a local type pet store or are they part of a chain? If it's a chain, I've also had some success speaking with the head office when the store manager was unresponsive.

Answer:
I don't know if it's part of a chain but the name is Pets-4-Us.

Answer:
