SCAM - BEWARE of these emails
Question: Not sure if this is the best place on POTN to post this . please move if there is a better or more appropriate place for it: The lady in question lives right here in BC so this scam is in Canada now too A lady wrote to me today about a guy wanting to buy her gliders(two male joeys)and although she wrote right on the ad no shipping This was the response that she got so be aware because even though many of us would not fall for this and she didn't either it is a huge scam that apparrently has fleeced many ppl out of their money(do a google search on Nigerian cashier check scam) Here was his letter to her PLEASE CROSSPOST as i don't make it to too many sites lately Goodday, Thanks for your mail towards my offer,well is higly appreciated...ok,and i do located in United Kingdom...and let me see the picture as well...Moreso for the means of payment am using Cashier's Check co's it will turn out to real cash...and for the Shipping of the Two male sugar gliders, i will handle it,co's i have a Well organised Shipper that will come for the pick up of the a Two male sugar gliders, from your Destination and i do promise you that you will definitely enjoy doing business with me. Furthermore,my Client is Residing in USA and his owing me sum money so his going to sending you Cashier's Check Whole amount of $3000 and you will be deducting your own money from it which is $350 and you will be sending the remaining balance to my Shipper through Money Gram, so that i can instruct them to come for the Pick up of the a Two male sugar gliders,from you.... Moreso, let me have your Full name is going to be on the cashier check and Residential address including your Cell Phone Number or any number that i will be able to reach you at point of time. Also if you don't recongize the person's e-mail address, but it clearly states yours as saying: RE: (whatever your e-mail address is).com...don't answer. I've been getting a lot of them & am pretty sure they are viruses. Answer: This scam is actually a reprint of a chain letter scam from the 1800's.... interesting isn't it? THat something could stay alive that long and STILL fool people? Answer: I got quite a few of those when I put an ad out for selling my car. The format is the same, except instead of shipping sugar gliders, the 'buyer' wanted to ship my car Answer: Well, don't fall for that, lol. People will try anything for money. Did you hear about all the millionaire Nigerian embassy men that have millions stuck in limbo and they want YOU to have 40% if you let them deposit into your account. Just send them $5000 to get started... Anyone?? Answer: Anyone?? OOO, OO Me please, ...pick me, pick me!!
