Goodbye Libby
Question: I put Libby to rest today. He had been lingering on and suffering for a long time. Nothing would make him better. Libby was an old betta, and I'm sure he was dying of old age. He was my second betta, and my favorite out of all that I've had. I got him from Petsmart one day. He caught my eye because he was the largest betta I had ever seen, and he was in such a small cup. I named him Libby because he was "liberated" from the tiny cup. He was the happiest betta I have ever had. He started out in a 2 1/2 gallon tank, and when I saw how much he loved to swim, I gave him his own 10 gallon. He would swim constantly back and forth, back and forth. He loved life! When he started getting older, he got more lethargic. I put a divider in his tank and added another male betta to keep him company. It perked him up a little, but he continued to go downhill. When his partner died, I moved him back into his 2 1/2 gallon tank, and treated him with all kinds of meds. Nothing worked and there didn't seem to be any symptoms besides wasting away. I kept trying, and recently he stopped eating completely and just layed at the bottom all day and night. Libby was humanely euthanized with clove oil today. He is no longer in pain. I will always remember you Libby. You were my favorite betta. You loved life. Answer: I'm sorry... *hug* RIP Libby Answer: I'm sorry about Libby. He was beautiful.
