MADNESS LOOMS AT THE TORONTO HUMANE SOCIETY
TORONTO - On June 11, The Toronto Humane Society will be hosting midnight madness adoptions. The adoption department will remain open from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight .
This adoption promotion is part of an ongoing effort to adopt the hundreds of animals in the Society's care into loving homes. During last month's midnight madness, 62 animals found new homes.
“The midnight madness promotion is a creative way of finding loving new homes for the hundreds of animals awaiting adoption,” says Tim Trow, President of The Toronto Humane Society. “The spring and summer months are a challenging time for The Toronto Humane Society in terms of the number of animals coming through our doors. We have to find innovative ways to get people to come down to the shelter and adopt. Hopefully these extended hours will make it more convenient for people to visit the wonderful animals waiting for homes.”
The usual adoption process will still apply; potential adopters fill out an application and go through the interview process. The difference is that on June 11, they will have until midnight to adopt their new companion.
Adoption fees include: vaccinations to date, two months of Shelter Care insurance, a microchip identification implant, treatment with Advantage® flea control, a sample bag of cat/kitten food or discount coupon for Royal Canin Inc. puppy/dog food, and pet care information booklet. As well, many of the animals are already spayed or neutered.

In 2003 The Toronto Humane Society found loving new homes for 5,225 animals. As a not-for-profit organization the Society is funded solely through charitable donations. Its mission is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.

The Toronto Humane Society's Adoption Department is open:
Monday to Friday - 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday - 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m
June 11, 2004 - 12 pm to midnight

I didn't get a chance to check it out, we were at the Craft Beer Festival until 11pm and didn't have time to walk over. I hope it went well! There hasn't been any updates on their website yet.
