Hey guys. I'm posting this because I'm at my wits end and I really need help. I don't know how many of you know my situation, but when I was in school and not working, I managed to get several chinchillas--11, in fact--and while I love them to pieces, now I'm in school and working over 40 hours a week and I don't feel like they're getting the care they need. I feel horrible that I can't provide them with more than a clean cage, food/water, and dust baths, and it's not fair to them at all. So what I'm asking is for advice on finding good homes for them. Unfortunately where I live isn't really crawling with people looking for chinchillas as pets. Any help would be appreciated, and please--no flames, this is hard enough as it is.

I've found some potential homes, but I'm getting alot of attitude when I ask about the age of children in the home. I'm not comfortable sending my much loved pets to a house full of small children-I just don't trust it. I found someone to adopt my hamster, and she's going to her new home tomorrow. Another lady is driving in on Friday morning to pick up a chin. I just can't believe I'm doing this, it's so surreal.

I have 2 small children ages two and three they do NOT go into the chin room and I get them out when they are asleep...tell them why you are concerned..

of course, i do my very best to teach my girls that fingers do NOT go in cages, and so on, but not everyone does it's always best to err on the side of safety for all concerned, chins AND children
