In Loving Memory of Possum
Question: In Loving Memory of Possum Possum was my 4th rattie. She lived with Sundae, Peaches, and Squeak. She loved to lay on the hammocks and inside the tubes. During her first days with me, she was very excited about all the new toys she had. Possum always had tons of energy. She loved to climb and get as high as possible. She was the only rattie who knew how to jump onto the window sill. One night I found her up there, and she had chewed a perfect circle through the screen. Someone was cooking on the barbecue outside, and I guess she wanted some! Possum loved being out of her cage. She had really strong instincts to hoard food. One of her favorite things to do was to find food outside the cage and take it back in the cage to the food dish. I would often give her pieces of food one at a time so she could take it back to the cage. She loved it! I also called her "the little house keeper" because she kept everything neat and tidy. She would put bedding in its "appropriate place" and did the same thing with the food. Everything had a place according to Possum, and she worked hard to keep it that way! Sometimes she would take food away from the other ratties just so she could put it back in the food dish! Possum loved exploring. She liked to get on top of the betta's bowls and try to drink the water! She would also pull their silk plants out and run off with them! She was a major chewer and was the main culprit involved in a secret project that must have gone on for weeks. When I finally realized what was going on, I found a nice hole in my wall behind my fish tank stand. I discovered the hole when I saw Possum run in and disappear one day! Luckily she came right back out. When I first got Possum, I wasn't as attached to her as the others because she was a biter. The only reason she became a biter though was because she got used to me handing her food, and she became over eager when I put my fingers close to her. As she got older though, she mellowed out and stopped biting. She became Mike's favorite rattie and definitely one of my favorites. I really loved her clever and intelligent nature. She was a very, very special rattie. I am so sad to have lost her so suddenly. I never thought Possum would be my first rattie to pass away. I miss her so much already. She will always be remembered. Rest in peace my sweet girl. Answer: That's a beautiful memorial. Answer: What a beautiful tribute. I'm very sorry she had to go so soon Answer: How beautiful...I am so sorry for your loss.
