How many of you have pet insurace?
Question: Just curious as to how many of you have insurance for your fur kids. I have insurace for my three kitties. It covers illnesses, injuries, poisoning, and more. I think its a really good thing to have. My deductible is only $50, and I only pay $10/month per cat. Answer: $10 per month? What company do you use? I looked into it, but with 4 cats it was almost $100 a month, so I couldn't afford it Answer: We use to have it, until we found out, when our dog had cancer, that they will not cover a repeated surgery for something like cancer. They covered it once, and then told us that was it when the problem continued. So we just have a credit card for this sort of thing now, and a really good vet that would allow a payment plan Answer: I don't have any insurance for any of my pets. I don't think they need it, are there even such things as parakeet and bunny insurances? Answer: I don't. But I plan to with the next puppy/kitten. It's alot easier to set up from baby stage. My guys have too many pre-exsisting conditions to start now. Answer: I don't but I just have one chinchilla (and fish) and my insurance doesn't cover small pets. Answer: I don't have insurance either. I looked into it and I find the payments kind of expensive as well. My Vet takes payment plans if you're a regular customer.. and I keep one of my credit cards for Pet Care (mostly).. plus if it was extremely expensive surgery I would just go get a line of credit or borrow the rest from my parents.. Answer: when i am able to afford to actually pay board and training for Kimo, my horse, I will be getting some kind of insurance on him..as for Lucy, we don't but that's one of those we try to keep the option of a credit line available to pay for something that may come up... Answer: I looked into it for joey but it was too late after he had damage to his elbow. I looked into it again for Pippin but felt it wouldn't help that much anyway, I have a credit card dedicated to animal emergencies, my parents, or the vet offers payment plans. Answer: I have ShelterCare insurance. http://www.sheltercare.com/ I got it when I adopted Jasmine from Petsmart. She came with a month of it free. I then extended the plan and signed Ollie and Tiger up too. My vets have payment plans as well, but not everyone can get approved for them. I doubt we would, because we don't have the best credit (we screwed it up when we were young and stupid). Anyway, this company seems to cover pretty much everything, and my cats don't have any pre-existing conditions so I was able to get them covered. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
