Question:
I am against fur, but I have a confession to make: I still occasionally purchase real fur pet toys because they delight the animals so much. Hank will destroy the pet store bag to get to the fur toy, & Cub loves to carry them around & groom them. I feel like a hypocrite but they won't accept non-fur substitutes.
I justify it by saying, well Hank would kill wild animals for their fur, so I am only providing her w/ what she would have naturally.
Does anyone else buy real fur toys but oppose the fur garment industry?

No, I don't support the fur industry in any way. I use little stuffed animals for the chins and dogs, and they all seem to work fine

What kind of toys are they Carla? I haven't bought a real fur toy in ages but I just recall the way Hank gets so excited about them, & Cub grooms them. What sort of toys do they like as much?

I got these little 97 cent toys from wal-mart in the dog section. It's shaped like a flower, or something like that. They are just regular little stuffed animals with no eyes or anything on them. I couldn't believe how well they went over.

When I had cats I would give them fur toys, if i had cats i'd still give them fur toys, but that's just me.

No, I would not give my pets real fur toys. In my opinion, the little satisfaction that they would give my pets is not worth the suffering of other animals.

I've bought a couple of fur toys in the past but Hamish ate them I couldn't buy fur toys now, though, even if Hamish didn't eat them. I don't even buy the rodent-shaped toys since I have rats

Why don't you go to a thrift store and buy some old ugly fur mittens or hat, and make toys? That way, you are recycling, no new animals are being killed, and you aren't directly supporting the fur industry.
