will not shop at PetCo again
Question: Hi everyone, Its was my first time at Petco and probably my last....I asked for someone to open an aquarium so that I could see some frogs..I was interested in a painted frog that belongs to the same family as a tomato frog...the young lady looked at me as though I was from Mars and left....so I went to another person and asked for assistance again....I said to the other girl I just want to see the frog and the other girl ignored me...so she said the that the other girl must have thought i was not suitable to have a frog....ok, now I was pissed... Hello...I've kepted discus for 16 years, I worked at a wholesale place treating and maintaining fish for 3 years, I have several hedgehogs, and a newt tank. I guess I can't take care of a painted frog.... ....Oh and I had a red eyed tree frog for 3 years. I guess she judged the book by its cover ...if she had only asked me questions about the animals I've had kept, she would have seen that I could handle a frog. Petco gets a brick for its customer service Red Answer: Yes be mad! Just remember they are not educated workers, just kids getting paid for the most part. We don't have Petco here, yet! We do have Pets Unlimited. My first and last trip there I found all there furry little critters under hot lights.I gave them much advice and left. I look pretty normal most days. I'm sure I didn't then. Pet shops may be Ok for some of our pets supplies, the pets are just to draw folks in. The poor little darlings. Answer: Please DON'T mention PetsUnlimited!!!! Wish we could do something about those places!!!!! Have you seen the hot little cubby holes they keep their dogs in.....maybe we should put the humans in there for 24 hours.....see how they like it? ok, that's all I'm saying, lol, I'm totally on a petstore strike, it's officially been months now! Oh, except I forgot to mention, in the bldg supply place next to MicMacMall in the plant dept, they have a big pond with 3 or 4 huge turtles, well not really huge but big, like at least 8-10inches (maybe 12?)and also big goldfish, I spent about 15 minutes on my knees chatting to them. Thankfully no one was around as it is still Winter. Answer: LOL Sugar, I do the same thing in the newly renovated Petsmart by me. They put in a pond and waterfall in the store, and they have some massive carp in there. I like to talk to them to. I'm sure by now most people think I'm nuts! Answer: Animal communication time...lol Answer: Originally Posted by sugargliderns ok, that's all I'm saying, lol, I'm totally on a petstore strike, it's officially been months now! Me too -- I started boycotting PetsUnlimited (and petshops that sell pets in general) about three years ago I think it is now. Hate them! I get all my stuff at pet supply stores now. Answer: I'm not a huge fan of petstores. I can't stand the idea of paying $70 for a cat when the SPCA is overrun with cats and dogs too. I stopped into the local one about a month ago on my way back from the bank to see if they were going to order any cat houses or if they could order me one. Walmart stopped bringing them in, and they have no pet person in pets so I wasn't going to ask them. Anyhow, I waited, and waited, and waited while one of them gabbed with another customer for 20 minutes. Which would have been fine if it was pet related. It was, to an extent but mainly just idle chit-chat. I got fed up and left. Answer: Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask everyone if I should go online and fill out the survey and get $2 off my next purchase at Petco. Its not the $2 I want, its the fact that their customer service really sucks. Will I be wasting my time? Do the pet shop chains really look at the data (complaints/positive comments) and take it seriously????? This PetCo was in the USA. Where I live, the pet shops are after the all mighty $ and they really don't give a dam. I guess I am expecting too much customer service. The funny thing is that I have to give very good customer service and support to USA customers at work. I guess I just had to vent. Red P.S Pickles the same type of things happen to me when I go to a pet shop. I guess I will be buying my fish and animal products online. www.mops.ca for fish supplies. Here they ask for $199! which may not be a bad thing, because maybe people will stop and think before they support puppy/kitten mills. Although I'm sure most people who shop at pet stores don't know that they are doing that. Unfortunately, I don't think most of them would care either. Oh, and go ahead and fill out the survey. Even if it isn't read or noted, at least you will have tried. Answer: Originally Posted by Mollymitten Although I'm sure most people who shop at pet stores don't know that they are doing that. I know people who are well aware of where PetsUnlimited gets their animals and the deplorable way they treat them, yet they continue to shop there even when there are alternatives.
