aww..how long was the baby there before they took it in?
sometimes mom deer will put their babies somewhere they think is good while they go out and forage, i saw a great pic of a baby on a step, surrounded by cherry blossom petals...the family said they saw it out there at dawn, then a few hours later mom came and baby left with her...
they are so adorable tho!

but reading that again i see they said baby wasn't in good health when they found it so probably been there a while..
i hear goats make great nurse moms for fawns!
