How are all our critters doing these days?
Question: I thought it would be fun to list all our pets and give an update on how they are doing these days! Primarily because I keep losing track of who owns who!! Let me see who I can remember - I have Penny, Molly, Sadie and Alex. 4 cats that drive me up the wall, but I wouldn't be without them for the world! Sadie seems to be much more relaxed these days, and there have been very few accidents, thank god. Alex is still a little poop head. I would like to see him put together with Titus!! Jenna - Booger, Mousie, Hermie, Titus, Nattie and Hogan. Plus some other small furries (apologies for not remembering all their names!) Pickles - Pickles and Meeko Brandy - Cody, Kaymen, handsome Moe, Sasha and Nellie, Binka and (sorry, I can't remember your other bird's name!) Padfoot - Odie and other small furries Sugargliderns - New ratties Denise - Logan and Molly Banshee - Aoife, Hamish, Bruce and Isobel I'm sorry, I realize that I'm not listing everyone, but it would take forever! So come on, how is everyone doing? Answer: Well Calypso and Jigsaw are now bitterly disapointed that you forgot about them! Both girls are doing great! Tim has now officially trained Jiggy to beg for treats almost on command. And Calypso knows what the word "treat" means and comes running any time she hears it. They were happy to hear that I have booked their favourite pet sitter for our trip to NB in July. She is pretty excited about coming back to see them too Calypso seems to be having a growth spurt. She's up to a whopping 685 grams Jiggy is so-so on weight. But at least the mushy poo problem seems to be gone and both girls are still their mischevious selves Answer: My dogs Montana & Kokoroo are doing well. Koko is walking more since the snow is slowly disappearing.. she's working on getting her figure down to a slim 2.5 lbs before bikini weather arrives! Tonight I got home from work & Koko didn't meet me at the door.. I could hear her little bark coming from the bedroom so I went in search.. She had hopped into my laundry basket & couldn't get out! I am left to wonder how long she was sleeping on my dirty clothes for before her Momma came to the rescue! My cats Wiley & Wilson are also doing well. Wiley needs to lose a few pounds that he has put on over the past year. I can't understand how he has gained weight since he has so much more space to run around compared to our old apt. Chloe (my guinea pig) seems to be slowing down.. I think her age is catching up to her. She's 6 yrs old now.. My lovebirds are still hanging in there.. Keiko has seizures still.. none this week so far (unless I was at work when it happened) but he did fall off his perch the other night.. looked around to see if anyone witnessed his embarrassing moment and climbed back up! My chinchillas are great! I still have Simone (foster chinnie).. don't see any sign of babies & I've decided she deserves more one-on-one time so I'll eventually let her get adopted.. I can't keep them all! So that does it for my Zoo! NEXT!! Answer: Pickles seems more affectionate as she gets older. Almost daily now I can pick her up, set her in my lap, and she'll stay on her own accord while I pet her. She turned 1 last month but the anniversary of her adoption will be the 30th. Health wise she's doing great, soft glossy furr and a nice weight. I thought she'd plump up after being fixed but nope! Even though Meeko is the dominant one of the two, she has taken to tackling him, mounting him and cleaning him herself!! Meeko is one bad cat. I have yet to get his chewing under control. Doesn't matter what it is, if it's paper, he's almost sure to tear it apart or chew it up. I'm hoping that once he gets fixed next month that it'll help with that. He's growing like a weed. Needs to work on grooming himself, which is why I think Pickles has taken to doing it for him. He's still a little snuggle bug. Everytime my alarm goes off in the morning and I don't get up instantly, he comes and purrs in my face and presses his wet nose into my eye. I have a hard time remembering all their names, too. Cats- Booger is turning 8 soon. She is finally starting to mind about not jumping on the table during dinner. It has taken a long time. She also loves the new bunny- in true Booger thinks all little things are her babies fashion. Hermie is clingy to me this week because Isaac is visiting his grandparents. She even slept with me the last two nights. She turned 5 this month. Mouse is LESS clingy to me since Hermie is always around. Mouse will turn 4 soon after Booger's Birthday. She and Titus are always chasing each other and making noise. Titus will be one in May. He gets booted from the bedroom most nights for making so much noise. He also melts over sideways when you scritch his neck. He has turned into a complainer- cries to be petted, cries when you pick him up, cries when you put him down- just likes to hear himself meow. Dogs- Natalie- still very much a puppy and nearing 90 lbs. She has shed most of her black out and is now very much brindled all over- when she was brindled just behind the ears before. Hogan is still on his special diet of puppy food, turkey, and cottage cheese in an attempt to put a couple pounds on him. He will also be one in May. Sirius still hasn't learned to ask to go out, but is very good to wait for his three walks a day. It was actually an easy transition for him moving into the house, though he often lays with a 'help me' look on his face when Nat and HoHo started their wrestling around. Pagan is coming in a few days. She has had a mysterious cold I am told, but is much better now. She still hasn't grown any. Bunny- Maizee spent all morning binkying on my bed. She is learning to come when you call her name. She is eating TONS of hay and pretty much nothing else. Piggies- Picasso is vying for my attention lately since he sees me holding the bunny so much. He has temporarily lost his interest in the catch-me-if-you-can game, which I very much appreciate. Hieronymus is still a squeaker. His face has gotten very dark and makes me wonder what else is mixed in with his teddy. He still likes to make the water bottle leak and pester Piccy just for the hell of it. Rats- Chester is doing great. He and Owen are no longer free range after Chester decided he liked to chew on things too much. They have adjusted well, though Chester had some dirty looks to pass out for a while about it. Owen is showing signs of age and myco and has been on meds. He apparently is feeling better today as he was running in his wheel. Harley is even fatter than ever. He is pushing three pounds and just keeps getting bigger. Lucas is now about half Harley's size. He is still shy and still trying to eat the cage. Ditto is getting squishy, too despite the fact he is still running marathons in his wheel very night. Voodoo and Taboo are still scrapping, still eating ungodly ammounts of mix, and still trying to trap each other between the wheel and the cage. McCoy is now on meds for an ear infection, but he seems better today, too, as he got into his hammock quite easily without falling over, poor guy. Hamsters- Possum the campbells is still kicking it at almost 2. She ignored the house I bought her and has moved back into the west wing of the cage. Blackeyedpea is at grandma's with Isaac. Ken still has no obvious personality. I am still trying to figure that guy out! Parfait has gotten rather tubby and is on a diet. She just turned one. Rabbit still has not figured out what wheels are for. He just turned one. Millie has escaped and been caught twice now. She is a little too smart to be a real hamster. Gelsey has turned into a huge girl- too bad I am not breeding at this time. Doc loves her new wheel- she no longer has to contend with that hand-me-down wheel that fell apart when you went to fast. Batty has finally moved into her igloo, though she has regarded it as an evil entity her entire life until this point. Grizzly's hairloss has stopped progressing with the brewer's yeast in his diet. He is pushing two, as well. Hemi has finally in his life decided that wheel are fun. Hemi is going on two and a half. Gerbils- The babies are still smaller than the parents- amazes me how long they grow. Peekaboo and Natasha fight over the wheel now. Boris and Genghis get on well, though there was a period there I was worried about them. And Phyllis, who has always been more of a wallflower, has proven herself to be the most people-oriented of them all. *** On a sad note, we lost Patience a few nights back. She finally lost the battle with her faulty teeth. They always seem to be doing better before they go, don't they? Answer: B.B. is her usual self, fixated on food but she snuggles on my lap every night when I am watching TV. I keep a brush on the table next to me on the couch so she gets brushed every night now. She used to hiss at me when I tried to brush her, and now she purrs so she has come a long way. I can't understand where all her fur comes from. You'd think she'd be bald with the amount I brush out of her every night! Toffee is doing great, seems to always be a bundle of energy and with the longer days seems even more so. Of course when you sleep 16 hours a day I guess I would have a lot of energy too. We did a photo shoot before I went on vacation. I should post those pics, minus the pics of the rug, the butt shots and the blurry jumping shots of course Answer: Shauna is doing great, well behaved except for the fact that she barks at her own shadow, she turned 7 on March 5th. Toffee has finally lost the weight she gained from having her puppies, she had her 1st birthday at the end of February. She does have this stupid boil behind her ear, she decided to scratch it and now its infected. Toquito has been so clingy lately, I think hes jealous of the puppies. Hes well behaved except that he keeps marking all over the house. Kiara and Savannah are growing like weeds, Kiara has so much puppy fat. They love to be picked up and cuddled. They escaped from the kitchen the other day while we were out of the house and pulled a bunch of dry leaves out of a pot and crunched them all over the carpetIt was especially hard to clean up since my mom had the vaccum at work with her. Cally is doing great, shes a cuddle monster. If you're in the room shes on top of you. If you don't pet her, she runs up your leg Brooke and Peeper are doing good, I'm trying to introduce them so they can live in the same cage...its going ok, except for the fact that Brooke keeps hiding from Peeper, so they never get to meet What can I say about my fluffly little bunny Mocha? He likes carrots and he has a new obsession with flipping the lid off his cage. Harmony and Chloe are our only 2 guinea pigs left. A couple died from old age and the rest found new homes. These 2 are doing good. They had lost some weight due to stress (this is what the vet said) but they are gaining it back now. They have a huge cage all to themselves, so they seem pretty happy. I think thats all of my crew lol. Answer: Apart from my new ratties, I have Zena the doggy, she's about 5, kitties Silly and Soxy, and of course the 4 gliders who are really getting shy lately because I've been spending so much time with the new ratties!!! Answer: Lil is doing good, she needs to lose about 5lbs to be in good shape, she enjoys going to the off leash dog park lately, although she embaresses me a bit because she would rather play with all the bigger dogs instead of walk with us. Charlie my boy is doing quite fine, he likes to eat and sleep, Bright likes to run on her wheel at the times our favourite tv shows come on tv, so all we hear is *squeak, squeak.* Answer: Hi everyone, 9 hedgehogs 5 newts (adopted 2 from a friend) 4 dwarf frogs(adopted from a friend who closed down his tank) 3 spiked snails 6 discus and a few other fish in a planted tank my newest addition 1 painted frog named Herman Munster Red Copyright © 2007 - 2012 www.tendlife.com
