Omg
Question: Ok I have two degus together, and one is a real jerk, they always get into minor but never has she ever hurt her.. I though nothing of these... they get along always, and now she has a hole in her ear... it stoped bleeding... but I don't know what to do... my mom is a *****, pardon my langauge, and she will not take my furry friends to the vet... I don't know what to do, it is only a little whole... and the ear kind of ripped... and I didn't have another cage, so i put her back.. and now their cuddling... I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO p.s they're both girls Answer: Watch for infection. Chances are it will be fine. Ears can be damaged quite a bit in a scrap. *Usually* they'll heal alright on their own. The hole will still remain. I don't know if degu bites hurt degus as much as they do people, by my guess in this case would be a no. Just watch for any signs of redness or soreness. A little neosporin or triple antibiotic wouldn't hurt. Answer: One of my rats bit a chunk out of another's ear one time by accident. It bothered me more than it bothered Iona. I just put neosporin on it and kept an eye on it, and it healed fine. I do know a lady who had to rush her rats to emergency on a few occasions because the bite happened to slice a vein and there was a serious amount of blood. That happened three times to the poor woman! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
