Animals!On a Plane!
Question: Hey everyone. I'm looking for some advice about flying animals on a plane. I moved from Halifax to Calgary in the summer and our place doesn't allow animals so I boarded my gliders and hamster with TheRatLady. I'm going back to Halifax at the end of this month to visit and to get my babies because we're moving to a place that allows pets! I'm wonder if anyone here has flown animals before and if so with what airlines and what things had to be done for them to fly. It seems like I can fly my pets on westjet as long as they are vet checked and in a proper carrier (Just in case I'd love an alternitive) .I'm not sure what I can do about my hamster yet so, any ideas and suggestions and stories are more then welcomed. Answer: I've shipped chinchillas with out any problems. I have a friend who used to take hers home to PEI for vacations. She would put him in a small carrier under her seat. They have stopped that and won't let her do it any more. So she left them with me over Christmas rather than send them cargo. Some have had problems with traveling cargo. Answer: What airline was that with? Answer: I have shipped with Air Canada and West Jet, I'm pretty sure it was Air Canada that wouldn't let her take the chin on board the plane any more. It's pretty cold to be sending cargo right now I would think. Just as some summer months are to hot. For short trips around the island here we bus animals from town to town.
