Pittie Owners Charged

Question:
HOTTAND TOWNSHIP, Michigan -- The owner of two dogs that attacked a herd of sheep in Michigan has pleaded guilty to multiple misdemeanor charges.
The dogs have been put to sleep.
Police say the two pit-bull type dogs entered a fenced area January 7th and killed eight sheep and wounded six others at a farm near Holland.
Twenty-one-year-old Nickelle Reagle has entered guilty pleas on charges of failing to have the dogs leashed or properly licensed.
She'll be sentenced at a later date.

Answer:
Now how sad is that. The dogs loose there lives because the owner is lacking in the care department.
We now strick rules on dogs, and pitts in general are feared.
The City has passed a law that dangerous dogs will be put down.
A must that could be avoided if folks would look after their animlas, train them properly and keep them on a leash.
We had one at a dog park a few montha ago that attck anopther dog.
The poor thing needed over 200 stitches and 600.00 in vet bills. Had to have a drainage tube incerted and everything. All because one fellow couldn't control his dogs, and took them off their leash.
Funny doesn't sound/seem hard to me. I've had dogs of every size most of my life.
Some just don't think enough about their animlas, and are not familiar enough with certain breeds to deal with them.
The animals pay for the most part, but I would hate to hear of a child being attacked because of an owner lack of responsiblity.

Answer:
That is ashame ... those poor dogs suffered the consequences due to the lack of responsibility from their owners.

Answer:
that is very sad on the dogs behalf. and its sad that the owner couldnt take propper resonsabilities in looking after his dogs...
because pitbulls are concidered a 'dangerous breed' the councils a very, very strict when it comes to owning pit bulls.my cousin used to own a male [tyson] he was a great dog. some of the rules here are, a person walking pitbulls has to be 18, you need a permit to own one, they have to be desexed or need a licence to breed and they have to wear a muzzle when being walked.im sure there are some more, but thats all i can think of.

Answer:
Pitbulls are a banned breed where i am....or any pitbull crossbreed

Answer:
But really, who wants a dangerous dog walking around, its no life being confined to a pen or a cage all day and in sense the dogs murdered innocent sheep, murderers do not deserve life. I know dogs can not think rationally like humans, but still, I would never trust any animal that has attacked before.

Answer:
A dog cannot be classified as a murderer in my opinion. I feel badly for the dogs and the sheep. So many people get these dogs thinking that they can let them run free.

I don't mean to be rude...but...
How can you say that? Murder by definition is:
1.Law. the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law. In the U.S., special statutory definitions include murder committed with malice aforethought, characterized by deliberation or premeditation or occurring during the commission of another serious crime, as robbery or arson (first-degree murder), and murder by intent but without deliberation or premeditation (second-degree murder). 2.Slang. something extremely difficult or perilous: That final exam was murder! 3.a group or flock of crows. –verb (used with object) 4.Law. to kill by an act constituting murder. 5.to kill or slaughter inhumanly or barbarously.

Personally, I feel murder is a human action, and the dictionary would seem to agree with that. Animals KILL. It happens. The OWNERS should be punished for not keeping them leashed up. If you said that you couldn't trust a dog that attacked a human, I would probably agree with you (depending on the circumstances of the attack, and how severe). But animals aren't people, and just because they're domesticated doens't mean that they're free of those instincts that once ruled them.
It makes about as much sense as killing wolves because they kill sheep. How in the world are they to know the difference between a sheep and a deer? It's not like they see a sheep and go "Oh...that belongs to farmer Tim, better not eat that."
Far as I'm concerned, better sheep than child. In a perfect world it wouldn't happen at all, but we don't live in a perfect world.
