Source for hay
Question: This web site is for a hay/gp pellet dealer out of Washington State. They sell timothy, bluegrass and a mix of alfalfa and bluegrass. This vendor was highly recommended by users on the alt.chinchilla newsgroup so I thought I would post it here. Unfortunately, they don't ship outside the US, but I thought it could still be helpful to some. Apparently all proceeds from sales go to this lady's piggy rescue. http://www.kmshayloft.com/ Answer: Cool, thanks for the link Sophie! Answer: Want to bump this up- I got some of her hay the other day for the first time, and it is GREAT. THe animals LOVE It, and it is so green and fresh- Right up there with oxbow. It actually looks BETTER then my oxbow! I also want to say I have read nothing but GOOD remarks from her by Guinea Pig, Prairie Dog, Chinchilla, and Rabbit owners. They all love it, some people really do think it's better than oxbow and APD's hay. Answer: ... But you still can't get it in Canada, right? Answer: Unless you want to pay for shipping! Answer: No, as I understand it, she doesn't ship to Canada, period........ Answer: Answer: yes, I know... My pigs LOVED her bluegrass & now I don't know how to get more... Money isn't really an issue, I'll wait til Xmas or my next GST cheque comes along, but if she doesn't ship to Canada, .... Just wondering: does bluegrass grow this far North? Is there domestic Canadian bluegrass? Answer: I think Kreenish managed to get some shipped up (she gave Lisa and I a sampel so I'm assuming she had it shipped in) but she could probably confirm that for you. Answer: I've been ordering my hay from there myself. All my chinnies love it. I ordered a small 9# bale first just to see what they would think and they demolished it. They never ate any of their hay with that much enthusiasm before. So for my second order I got a 35# bale so I wouldn't have to order as frequently. Linda was nice enough to email me because as she was preparing a smaller order the day after she had sent mine the bale she was using wasn't to great (twigs and lots of weeds) so she emailed me and let me know that if my bale was similar to let her know and she would get another shipped out. Luckily my bale was fine and all the chinnies love it. She did send a sample of the bluegrass but my chins aren't to fond of it and enjoy the timothy. Also as a returning customer she gives (i believe) 10% off. I've never tried Oxbow or APD so I can't compare, but I will say all of my chins love it and like to sneak into the box to munch during play time. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
