I am writing a proposal for a pets-related radio show here @ Seaside FM, & I wanted to know (a.) what you all think listeners would like to hear on a pets-related 1/2 hour weekly radio show- ie. what would YOU like to hear, what would keep your interest & (b.) what should my show title be? My show will be starting the 2nd week of July. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Wow, sounds great! Wish I could get that station... Well maybe introduce a new pet every week and inform people about it (diet, behavoir...) The more people will become aware of exotics and other animals. I'm not sure what the name should be though

Erin has a great suggestion, I was about to say that too. I'd also love to hear about alternatives to the usual pet care, information on BARF (raw feeding species appropriate) diets, holistic pet care etc. Not just the usual 'talk to your veterinarian because they know best', encourage people to think for themselves and make a visit to the vet an interactive experience not just the vet dictating what to feed the pet etc.
Are you aiming more for small pet listeners or people with dogs and cats?

I am aiming @ a broad spectrum of listeners, not just dogs & cats- I'd obviously like to get the message out there about chinchillas!!
My first show will probably be on cat shows, because there is a big one coming up here.
Next I want to do the local greyhound rescue society.
After that, I'm not sure, but definitely one on nutrition & one on chinchillas.

as for a name...hmmmm I'll have to think about that one.

Ok, the only 1/2 decent show name I can think of is "Animals on the Air" (sorta like Pets-on-the-Net, heh heh ).
But I am *very* open to other suggestions!!!!

That sounds like a good title. I think that a show on what pet food ingredients actually mean (ie. define by-products) is a good topic. I also like hearing about DIY pet projects.

How about Critter Crazy as a name? It's short and sweet as well as easy to say and remember.

heh heh, I mentioned "Critter Crazy" to the station manager & he said it made him think of creepy crawly bug "critters" tormenting someone & driving them "crazy"!!!

There is a cat show this weekend so i will visit with my minidisc recorder (borrowed from my delectable radio instructor) tomorrow after my shift on air. Voila, show #1.
