pet insurance
Question: I have been looking for some new insurance for my pets do anyone no what are the best things to look out for when you are looking for pet insurance cover, and is there a lot off unreliable insurance out there just out for the money Answer: Hi I sone know alot about it but it has been discussed before heres the link,,hope this helps a little http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...opic.php?t=587 Answer: Check how much the deductible is, some companys ask you to pay for the first $50 (for example) then they will pay for the rest of the treatment. Some companys limit the number of times they will cover an illness, one of the companies I looked at only covers two illnesses a year. Another company pays up to $12,000, no limitations but their premium was close to $50 a month per dog. Also depending on the breed of your dog, some breeds are considered high risk for genetically caused disorders and their premiums are higher, etc. Hope this helps! Answer: I was looking for pet insurance in the UK not the US anyway I have been looking at this one from Pedigree® Healthcare Cover http://www.pet-health-insurance.co.u...rance_plan.htm Monthly: £21.50 Yearly: £258.00 Excess: £70.00 Pedigree® Pet Care Cover Accidental injury only Monthly: £8.50 Yearly: £102.00 Excess: £70.00 does anyooe no of a better one in the UK Answer: I have no experience with pet insurance in the UK but the things to look out for in a policy should be similar, how many illnesses covered, amount of deductible etc. Does the Healthcare plan include regular preventative vet visits like yearly check-ups or only if your dog is sick? The Accidental Injury plan looks like it only covers things like car accidents, accidental poison ingestion etc. It doesn't look like bad insurance, the plan that I am getting for my dogs only covers illness and accidents, I pay for yearly check-ups and vaccinations myself. Answer: Do you think that more people have savings for their pets than insurance or are more people without insurance or savings, is it a good idea not to have any? Answer: I know that some people do put aside money for their pets every month or every pay cheque as an emergency fund and that works for them. I think that a lot of people also don't have insurance or savings, some also think it would be cheaper to have a pet diagnosed with an expensive condition put to sleep rather than pay for treatment. For my situation, I can't put away enough each month to manage to save up enough for an emergency situation (probably costing up to $1000 or more) so I just pay the insurance company $10 per dog (I have 2) each month and I have peace of mind and I don't have to worry about whether I've saved enough for their treatment or not. I still pay for the regular stuff myself, like checkups, vaccinations etc. If you have the extra money for treatment already (should you need it) or if you have a reliable source of money for treatment (my parents would pay for my pets when I was younger) then insurance might not be as important.
