Do you have a funny story...

Question:
Of how you gave your pet its name? Any pets named after people, places and whatnot?
I have a chin named Jenna, and she's named after the adult film star Jenna Jameson. Jenna's cagemate, who died this December, was named Asia-for Asia Carerra, another adult actress.
It's not really funny, but one of the new kits I had born last week is named Kandi-after Candice, because she helped me out with them so much

Answer:
Carla, funny you should say that! My husband wanted me to name my tan girl after Jenna as well! I told him "NO"!!

Answer:
I don't know if it's funny, but...
I took home two foster kittens: white sisters that were about 3 weeks old. They were laden with fleas, earmites, worms, and they had URI. They were very adorable, and spent most of their time with me in an extra-large rabbit cage. When they were about 7 weeks old, they were still sniffly, but to tell them apart my partner and I put collars on them. The red collared kitten was more hyper than the black collared kitten, so we called them Manic and Depressive, respectively.
Despite my best care, they both struggled with their URIs, and one day Depressive just crashed. I rushed her to work, and despite being injected with sub-Q fluids, she died. That left just Manic.
It took the remaining kitten six months to get better, and even then, she had chronic URI. The techs said they wouldn't put her up for adoption, so I rescued-adopted her. I changed the spelling of her name to Manik.
She'll be three in June!
My boyfried named his cat Cake: the Spanish word Gato means cat. It sounds like the French word "Gateau" which means cake. So Cake the Cat is Gateau the Gato.

Answer:
Orangeyabald I named when I was 12 - orange & white are his colours. So orange & white, White changed to 'bald' because it's like the bald eagle, hence his name is a combination of the two.
Lady Death is so named because the day I took her home I had her in my jacket as it was cold. She hung on to my neck with a DEATH grip, to make sure I wasn't going to let her go. I also like the comic book
Mikoto was named after a video game character whom she resembles both in looks and personality - and I love japanese names.
Donovan was named after another video game character who is half human/half demon ( vampire) -He's black & white
Samurai well after the legendary Samurais- he's got the claws to prove it!
Yugi - Well after the T.V. show/card game character Yugi-oh. He's small & cute like the main character.
Mina - I liked the name - From Sailor Moon
Puff - well, was named when I got him
Mickey - was also named when I got him
Mirage & Illusion- Sisters so we wanted names that were the same but different.
Sephiroth - After the FFVII character, who had stunning gray hair.
Dante - again after a video game character, which we really liked the name of.
That's all of them!

funny choices
My friend and I had a little "game" we played, some one would say "Boo!" (in a totally non scary way) and the other would say "Eek!" ( in a totally not scared way). So, when I got my cat, I thought, "How could I name my cat "boo" with out it being too obvious?" So I named him Malibu and we just call him "Bu" for short . Then, my friend got a kitten, whom she named "Eek".
As for our rabbits, we've only gotten to name like 5 of our seven rabbits, so afte Sugar'n'Spice (because she has a bright cinnamon coloured back and a pretty sugary coloured underside), and 911 because of his tag number, we started theme naming our rabbits. So, Andromeda (Romy), our french angora, from the TV series and Tyr (pronounced "tear" like the salty ones from our eyes ), our senior mini rex buck, from the same show, then there's Rogue, our newest mini rex doe, who's named after an X-Men character.

Answer:
Kokoroo- when my Yorkie was a puppy & was turned over to the Humane Society, her former owner had named her Coco.. and my co-worker was also interested in adopting her b/c she has a Yorkie named Roo.. so I changed the spelling to Koko & added the Roo, just b/c it sounded cute.
Wilson- named after one of my shrinks... actually the one that got me 'well' again!
Pablo Garcia- I was looking for a Spanish sounding name for my 1st chinchilla... one night I was watching America's Most Wanted.. and they were on the 'look-out' for Pablo Garcia... sounded good to me! Until HE turned out to be a SHE.. so I changed it to Pablo Graciella (Graciella is my cousin's boss and was similar enough to Garcia)

Oh gosh...hehe
I've had a Joonyer...just an different spellig :P
as for current pets:
We have a bit of a twisted naming scheme going right now...It was originally Cancer (was an astrological theme originally as his mom is Aries and dad is Leo) and Twinkle...Tim didn't like 'Twinkle' so she became Tumor, and their two daughters we have here are Chemo and Mammo.
Number One...When the kittens were born we didn't want to get attached so we refered to them in the order they were born...well as the kittens found homes, nobody seemed interested in him, and one day we were talking about him and he responded to Number One, so it's stuck.
McCaille (my online alias) was named by combining my two favorite camp councelors the year they were born, Marcielles and Caitlin...just a little thing I came up with on my own...I was 14 (going on 15).
I had a Pest :P He was named by my brother since his favorite movie at the time was The Pest. I've had a Tasslehoff Burrfoot from the Dragonlance Series (pest's brother) Squeekie, since she had such a high pitched meow her entire life (she was the mom to Eli and McCaille) OoO Had a Tweaker, she had this nervous 'tick' with her tail when she walked. Bingo, my granny's budgie way back when (Granny's favorite Sport... )

Answer:
I named my cat "Leo" because my bf at the time's brother was named Leonard. I did it just to drive him insane and make him think I had a thing for his brother. Can you tell we had issues?

Answer:
lets seeeee......... First I have Nibbles my rabbit, not really funny except he's addicted to chewing on your clothes when your holding him.
Then we have Rustico of Sandy Acres, he's a rusty colour and I heard the word rustico somewhere so I just named him that, later found out that it was the italian word for cabin. Sandy Acres was his fathers name, so together it sounds like some cabin in a place called sandy acres, weird how things work out.
Next there is Turbo Tickler of Austin. My ex boyfriend's friend dared him to register his name with the united kennel club as Turbo Tickler the Porno Beagle (because he liked to hump a bit in the beginning) He chickened out, I wouldn't let him anyways. I let him put in Tickler because he doesn't lick anybody's face but he gets really close and tickles your chin with his whiskers. (oh and Austin was part of his fathers name)
And last but definately not least.......Oscar Mayer!! Someone found him in my factory and nobody was really sure about taking him home. He was attached to me in the very beginning. He was sooooo hungry and we didn't have much left in any of our lunch bags except a small tin of wieners. He ate them up so fast I don't even think he chewed. So he got the name Oscar Mayer. I even sing the song for him, it goes....My kitty has a first name it's O-S-C-A-R, my kitty has a second name it's M-A-Y-E-R. It's not much but he likes it.
I also have a song for Rusty, it's the tune of Frosty but I always change the words. It usually starts out like...Rusty the beagle, was a very silly dog etc..lol I love making songs for my babies.

Answer:
hmmm, i dont know if we have interesting names but joey was already named because he was a christmas dog, ( joseph) we tried to change his name multiple times but ended up with "Bear" as well because when he was a puppy he used to run around with his entire rump to the ground just like a baby bear cub.
pippin was named because i had picked out the name for the next dog we got, Ross's Peregine Took, plus he was my favorite character in the LOTR movies and books. but after we got him it was obvious how much he resembled the charachter. mischievous, curious and always into something or another
