I Don't Get It....
Question: ... this looks like a form of torture not a toy. http://www.ferretstore.com/sp-61516.html Answer: This one too: http://www.ferretstore.com/sp-61558.html Answer: Half the time I think all these cutesy toys are for the owners, not the pets. Answer: I dont think they are inclosed tho??? they can come and go as they please....so i dont really think its cruel,,,,but I think they would be just as happy with a cardboard box becuase they dont really know the difference between a cardboard bix and a car Answer: Oh, ok... I thought that the hamster was basically encapsulated in the "toy". I agree that a box sounds much better & waaay cheaper....... Answer: That flying saucer fits in with the whole Habitrail (I think that's the brand) space station concept for hamster cages They even have potty rooms you can attach to the cage and other cute accessories that I think kids love. Answer: It makes sense that it's more for kids, I don't think the hamster gives a crap about whether s/he's in a spaceship or a box. My hamsters never had anything that fancy.... or expensive!! Answer: Wouldn't they chew it? Answer: the ferretstore.com site said it was chewproof. I know of people who give Fischer-Price toys, Lego & all sorts of kid's toys to chins though. I think that some may be safe, like simple wooden toys or the metal (?) truck that Denise uses for her chins. In other cases, the hazards are being overlooked in the name of cuteness.... Answer: umm,,I think Denises truck is plastic,,,BUT it would be okay if supervised I dont think I would out that stuff right in the cage with them,,,,,,,its its during supervised playtime then it should be okay,, about the hammies,,,,,,from what i rememeber from ahving a hammie,,,they dont chew as much as chins do they?
