Scumbags & their Pets
Question: SPCA seizes 23 pets from bus By Amy Pugsley Fraser / Staff Reporter Halifax regional police were a little surprised when a Wednesday-night complaint call turned into a case of Doctor Doolittle crossed with The Partridge Family. "It was a rarity, to say the least," Sgt. Don Spicer said of the Sheet Harbour family who planned to take their 23 pets to Alberta on vacation in an old yellow school bus *** These idiots, along with their kids, had 19 cats, 14 of them kittens, infected with upper resiratory infections & their eyes were all crusted shut, living on a freaking SCHOOLBUS. Also a guinea pig, a pot bellied pig, an iguana & a Labrador retriaever were on board. When the animals wre confiscated yesterday, all they could say was that it hurt the children that they lost their pets & would ruin the family vacation!!!! Forget the damn kids, what about the animals?? This is an outrage. Answer: Neuro I wouldnt say forget the kids because no matter WHAT the parents do its not the kids fault. I was the result of parents not caring for animals and thinking dogs/cats/rabbits were disposable and okay to dump when they tired of them no count on how hard it was for us to deal with. Now how they had this many animals on a bus is beyond me, let alone the cats sick. HOW in the world did they even care for the iguana for one as they require HIGH temps, specialized lighting and diet just that alone. Where they actually LIVING in the bus or just traveling between there home to there vacation spot? What in the world could they be thinking to have that many animals on a bus for a vacation. Answer: 1st of all.. how in the world could they have afforded a vacation with so many animals.. and if they couldnt even afford to take care of their animals. some people have no brains!!!!!!!!! and obviously couldnt afford a place to live if they were living on a school bus!!!!!! are there charges going to be brought against them for animal abuse?? Answer: http://novascotia.cbc.ca/regional/se...alsbus20030904 According to another newspaper, the 19 cats were sharing 2 litterboxes. Christy, when I said forget the kids, I meant that the animals' well being should come before the rights of the kids to have pets. I'm sorry but living conditions like this are inappropriate for any pet, & it's too bad that the family vacation is ruined & the kids lose the pets, but it's just not right. Answer: Neuro, Oh I totally agree with you those conditions were UNACCEPTABLE for the pets. But I meant that im sure those poor kids are heartbroken and if the way they take care of there animals is any indications those poor kids lives arent much better, take it as someone who's been there. Yes the animals needs should be there before the kids rights to have pets. The living situation was way to bad for the kids id imagine as well, cant imagine that many animals obviously having to potty in the bus with those kids being inside the bus as well. Im going to read the link now. Answer: Man I just want to reach right through the screen and hug that iguana poor thing he had to be so cold and so lethargic as without proper temps they cant digest there food or regulate any of there body functions UGH I dont go on vacatins more than day trips so not to have to worry about finding a possible untrust worthy pet sitter. They were planning 6 weeks in this bus HOW in there right minds they thought this acceptable is beyond me. Answer: In a word...disgusting. Those people should never be allowed to own any kind of animal. Answer: Thank God they found the animals! Not only shouldn't they have animals but they have no right having kids either! The abundance of ignorance in the world never ceases to amaze me. Answer: Rowsell admits the cats haven't had their shots in over a year, but she says they're healthy. Again, the vaccination issue, I don't think whether or not an animal gets its shots yearly should be used as a guideline of how healthy an animal is. The rest of the article is quite amazingly disturbing, first of all, going on vacation in a schoolbus? And all the cats had fleas and infections and the iguana did not even have a heat lamp. I think their animals should be confiscated and not returned. What is the number of animals you can own in Nova Scotia? Answer: As far as I know there are no pet limits here.
