Dogs can get breast cancer? Answer: I have heard that somewhere before but completely forgot about it until I read about it in my magazine. Answer: yup that is right...............dog do get breast cancer.............my dog died at the age of 13 years old from breast cancer......if they have a littler of puppies.....their chances of getting BC also decreases we had lucy our bunny done prior to her first heat Answer: Heidi, they say the chance for breast cancer decreases in humans if they have children. Very interesting the same holds true for animals. Answer: hmm,,interesting,,I didnt know that about dogs or humans Answer: I have also heard that if humans breast feed their children that also decreases the chance of breast cancer. Answer: Denise, does it work for cats too? Answer: Spaying the dog before the 1st heat also reduces the risks of uterine infections, tumors of the reproductive tract, "false pregnancy", and certain dermatological conditions. If spayed before her 2nd heat, the risk is greatly reduced for mammary gland cancer... if the dog is 2 1/2 yrs or older before she's spayed then the risks for all of these conditions are the same as for a dog that is never spayed. Older unspayed females also are prone to developing uterine infections as well as Pyrometra (life-threatening).. As far as male neutering goes, the medical problems for them are Prostatitis, perianal hernias & tumors, hair loss and testicular tumors (cancer)... I've seen dogs with testicular tumors and it's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen! Candice.. it's the same for cats... Answer: Thanks for the info Sue. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
