Brought home by cat (Wild Squirrel)
Question: My cat archie came home with a squirrel. I think it's in shock. It doesn't seem hurt, but it's still young. I grabbed ome garden gloves and picked him up. He curled up in my hands and went straight to sleep. Then I put a towel in a shoebox and put him in there. He's asleep beside me right now. I was just wondering what I should do. Help!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Shayna Answer: I'm by no means an expert but if the squirrel is not injured but just in shock.. I'd keep it in a cardboard box with warm towels until it seems more active, then release him outside. Don't force any liquid (even water) as it could cause him to aspirate. It might be OK to put a small dish of water in the box though... If he seems to be getting worse, check the phone book for a Wildlife Centre in your area.. you could also call the Humane Society for info... Answer: A bit late, but it's always a good idea to call a wildlife rehabber in your area. Cardboard box with warm towels is the way to go - keep it away from other pets and people.
