They just opened up a new Pet-Store here in Saint-John, NB. It's a small self-managed place, but its really nice. They have a huge cockatoo name Cheeko which loves to say hi while bobbing up and down ... then asking for a backscratch cause its his favorite thing. They even have a family of sugar-gliders and degus, and some chinchillas ... so I think I know what I'll be getting myself for christmas.
Hopefully he'll make good buisness, very nice person, he wants to sell mainly local items if possible which is a nice change from other stores around here. By the looks of it, my baby hamsters and gerbils might have a new home to go too.

Ithink the important thing to remember about good small pet stores is that everytime you shop there, you keep them alive so they can carry better quality, special orders, & have better, more personal service & care of the pets in stock.
Everytime I support my local independent pet store it is a vote in favour of quality.

Brandy, I did see the add in the Buyer Flyer ... came so close to calling her ... but we don't have the money at the moment to support a new pet ... =( ... I still owe 2000$ for tuition money for January and I only have about 900$ saved up.
The pet-store doesn't seem to have a name just yet ... the sign just says Pets & Supplies . It's located right in the heart of the uptown area, on King Street, closer to King Square. The manager there is named Seril (or something like that) ... very nice person, originally from Toronto. We talked to him about needing a new Pigloo for the Hedgehogs ... and he gave us one that he was using for his Chinchilla (which he sold earlier) for no charge . He doesn't sell any fish though ... don't think he has the room ... which I don't mind because I'm not to crazy for fish. Definantly gonna take what buisness I have to him, a Pet-Store with principles and morals is a very good thing to have I find.

hmmmm.,.,,,,,I called about a ferret for sale a while back before I got Baby, anyways it was a man from Toronto, he had bought most of his animals up there and brought them down with him, something happened and he ended up not opening the pet store, i wonder if things changed and he was able to open it...i dont really rememebr much about him, excet the ferrets name was oddball, she was a sable, he also bred pugs, sugar gliders, chinchillas, and he had birds....thats all I remember but that name sounds so frigin familiar,,,

he didnt mention anything about not being able to open the store ... and he didnt have a ferret when he opened the store ... but he does breed sugar gliders and chins ... no clue about pugs ... and he has a lot of birds too ... i dont know ... maybe it is.
