Update
Question: It feels like it's been forever since I posted on the forum, but life is crazy and shows no signs of slowing down! I've aquired a few new chins over the summer, so I thought I should post an update. I took in a rescue chin in July, thinking she would be a standard when I picked her up, but she turned out to be a violet! She did very well at our Field Day, so I'm keeping her. Her name is Loki, which is not very Shakespearean, but she's five years old and I didn't want to change it. Apparently, she was originally purchased from a breeder in Richmond, BC. Anybody know any breeders there (5 years ago)? Answer: Then I purchased this beige male at the Sept 10th field day. His name is Hamlet - I know I had another Hamlet once, but he was returned due to some miscommunication. This is the new, improved Hamlet. Apparently, he carries the gene for some new recessive white colour, whatever that means (it was all explained to me, but I forgot). Not a very good picture, but the only one I have right now. Answer: And then I won Orlando (standard)! He was raffled off at our field day. I did buy $10 worth of tickets. Orlando weighs over 800 grams and is already happily settled in with Rosalind and Beatrice. Loki is newly paired with Romeo, which I know is a bad colour combination, but I don't have anybody suitable for her right now. I guess I'll have to find a white violet carrier male just for her. Hamlet is living with Ophelia, and by some miracle she hasn't killed or maimed him yet (please pray for his safety!). I would like to have Ophelia back with Romeo some day, but since there were no babies happening I though I should try a switch. Juliet is Due on October 27th. I would like to pair her eventually with Hamlet. With all these new pairings, I hope to have a crop of babies in the new year or spring. We'll see! Answer: Very nice Kristine, Congrats on the new additions. I especailly love Orlando. Carleen Answer: Congrats, Kristine! How are the non-furry children? Answer: Thanks! The non-furry children are great, too. Benjamin has started grade 3 and happens to have the same teacher that I had for grade 2 and 3, which is pretty cool. He's also doing swimming lessons and piano lessons. And he's old enough to have sleepovers! Esther is 2 and a quarter. She's as sweet and rascally as ever, and talking up a blue streak. She is VERY busy. She's especially into stickers. I've also introduced her to the potty, but she's not very interested and I'm not going to bug her about it yet. Aaron (he's a kid, too, wouldn't you think?... but I don't know about the non-furry part) is currently working at the Scott Road store in Surrey, though he just finished a 2-week sub in West Van and said that it was mind-blowing how much customers spend there (they're all filthy rich in West Van). He said that they might walk in, ask a few questions about the most expensive camcorder, and then say, "all right, I'll take two, with all the accessories and extended warranty - you just get it all together for me." Nice store! And I'm just busy keeping up with the chins and the kids! Kristine =) Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
