Question: Last night I had to get up to check on the boys and I found some blood stains on a shelf . I checked Snurr over but didn't see any cuts or bite marks, but when I turned him over I saw a cut under his foot. I also noticed that his feet are very dry and flaky so one of the "flakes" was probably pulled off when he was jumping around. Is there anything that can be done against dry feet? Answer: I was wondering the same thing, actually. Pocky's feet look a bit dry lately, and they feel kinda gross (though he doesn't seem to be bothered by them), so I was trying to figure out if there's a way to help that out. Lisa, is it just your Snurr, or the other ones too? Answer: I don't pick Felix up a lot, but from what I've seen he also has dry feet. Answer: I keep Aloe capsules here and put them on the chinnie feet pretty much weekly. It REALLY helps. My vet suggested the aloe so that if they try to lick it off, it won't hurt them. I found dry tootsies the same way you did, Lisa! Freaked out at the the blood in the cage. Answer: Not exactly what you want to find at 4 a.m. Answer: The aloe sounds like a great idea. Answer: That's brilliant! Thanks for sharing that! *hunts around for some aloe* Answer: Aloe, hmmmmm, sounds like a greta idea. Carleen Answer: Recently I had a similar situation with blood in the cage. I was feeding the chins, one was pink white and the other hetero beige and I found blood on a shelf and on their dust bath jar. I was horrified. I picked each chin up and looked at them thoroughly and did not see an area on either of them that appeared to be injured. I checked each chin again and still nothing. With a pink white and hetero beige, injuries should be pretty easy to find. NO. No injury. I then went to the next cage to feed the chins and sure enough I found blood!!. To make a long story short I had cut myself on bluegrass hay and I was the one who was bleeding. You know you are a chin owner when you are glad you are the one bleeding and not one of your chins! Answer: Hmm, aloe eh? I'll have to try that~! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
