Okay as I have posted her the cats have been to the vet and are taking a variety of meds to improve their health. I have found in the past few days that they are more playful. Meeko looks bigger and his furr seems softer. Maybe that's a season change thing, but maybe not.

So now I'm sure you are wondering what in the world I have to vent about.

Well let me tell you, as I think I am right and will find out tomorrow.


Thursday I paid for oral meds for the cats but the vet did not have it. Told me to return on Friday and she would have it. I called, she said it was in, and to come get it. I went, and they didn't have it. No biggie because I had to drop of the poop samples.

Yesterday I called and they had it. I went in and she was walking away (vet tech) while I was asking her some questions. Now Pickles is supposed to take 1.6 mL and Meeko 0.55 mL. The suringe is marked that completely full (at least to my understanding of it) is one complete mL. But not what the vet tech said and so I am starting to think she was wrong and that the cats are getting .05 of a mL for Meeko and .16 mL for Pickles. They are closed today. I am very irritated by the sitation and I plan on asking them for a bit more of the meds since they have gone through 2 of the 5 doses for these meds and I believe they are too small and thusly ineffective. And this medicine is too expensive for me to repurchase it because of THEIR mistake.

That doesn't sound very good - they give you meds with no clear dosage instructions, and the insert is in another language; they walk away from you when you're asking questions...sounds like you need to either tell them it's not good enough, or find a new vet. Hopefully you can get it sorted out.

Well it wasn't the vet it was the vet tech. Problem is their main/first language is French so explaining things can be a bit difficult at times. But she's the best vet around here. The other vet hates cats and makes no secret of that and actually talked my elderly great grandmother into putting down my great grand fathers cat because my ggm couldn't get Whiskers to swallow the pill. Great Grampy was a tough old man and when he found out HIS cat was put to sleep while he was in the hospital (alzheimers) he cried. Full on cried. So for that, she won't ever get my business.

The bottle says 1,60 mL and 0,55 mL (commas are correct as the French seem to use them inter-changeably with periods). The suringe says 1 mL at the very top. So to me that means I have to fill it once, then again more than half for Pickles and over half for Meeko. The amount they've had in the past two days is so tiny.

I'm going over there tomorrow to get it clarified. I don't want to up it without asking the vet and now I don't know if I have to do it longer because it's only supposed to be 5 days on that stuff. Plus it doesn't say if it's supposed to be in the fridge either. Seems kinda creamy to just leave out.
