How overdue is too overdue?

Question:
Juliet was due on Thursday and still has not delivered. I could have been one day off in my calculations, but that would still make her 2 days overdue, and she's never been more than 1 day overdue in the past. She still looks fairly chipper and can hop up and down on the shelves, and there's no spotting or pushing going on.

So, how overdue have your chins been? I'm assuming she's still in the normal range, but I'm impatient and prone to worry.

Answer:
Kristine, the first thing that popped into my head was to wonder how you could be sure that you'd calculated the delivery day correctly? I've been way off in my calculations before ... and everybody was just fine
I wouldn't start worrying quite yet

Answer:
I was thinking the same as Lisa, how do you know that you got the exact day? I believe it has been said they can be 2 weeks either way though, ofcourse again this could simply be miscalculation as opposed to being overdue.

Answer:
I just calculated the due date by counting 111 days from the day before the day I found the mating plug.

Good news! She had her babies this evening! I had been down in the chin room for over 2 hours this afternoon, grooming all the other chins and watching and waiting. Believe it or not this is the first time I've ever been privaledged to witness a birth. All the chins I've ever had have had this knack for having babies at night while we're sleeping or while we're out during the day.

First she had what looks like a standard boy and then she had a darker girl. It's hard to determine their final colours because they're still wet, especially the girl. I think she's done.

Aaron had fed the kids dinner and put them to bed by the time I finally came in!

Thanks for all your congratulations! I checked the babies before I went to bed last night - they were all dry and it turns out they are both standard. The girl is bigger than the boy, but I forgot to weigh them when I took them out to play this morning (they promptly fell asleep in my lap).

Juliet is housed with her 6-month-old dark ebony daughter that I brought to our MCBA show in September. Daughter is helping mom out with all the grooming and fussing over the kits, and they all seem happy. I was waiting for this litter to decide wether or not to keep the 6-month-old, so now that they're here I know that I will keep her and sell the babies. So, I can officially name her Lasaraleen, which I know is very strange, but we were reading C.S. Lewis' "The Horse And His Boy" when I picked it out (it's not Shakespeare!), and it reminds me of Lazarus, which is significant because we had somewhat of a raising-from-the-dead experience with her when she was born (Lazarus was raised from the dead in the Bible). But Lazarus is a boy's name, so Lasaraleen it is. And now Juliet will have several months' break (at least 6) while Lasaraleen grows up, and then I will introduce them both to Hamlet!

I may post pics of the babies in a couple of weeks, as I will finally have a digital camera. I'm switching to Telus high speed internet (just waiting for the modem to arrive in the mail), and a 4.something megapixel Sony digital camera for free is their current promotion for doing so. As unbearably adorable as the babies are, they pretty much look the same as all the other standard kits that Juliet has had, so I already have a million or so sibling baby pictures from our regular camera.
