Update on Sweetie and Baby
Question: Things have been going great during the holidays. Sweetie and Baby are not roommates, but they are thriving on their own. Sweetie actually jumped out of the cage onto my hands last night! I honestly didn't expect her to do that, and was so surprised I almost came to tears! She's been putting on weight, and is now a little bit larger than Baby, with a wonderful white coat that just gets thicker and thicker! She sings for us all the time, and makes the greatest little bruxing noises all night long. We ordered an R-695 Martin's cage for her, and cut out all the ramps and the middle of the large level. We then screwed wooden covers over the balconies so she isn't living on wire. The cage makes a lot of noise in the middle of the night, but she loves it. We had an annual check-up for all of the animals in the house, including Sweetie and Baby. We even tried a new vet (who we love). All of the rats are in good health but Anna, who is getting old and has arthritis. Sweetie is apparently in great health, but it was the vet's reaction to Baby that we loved. We placed Baby's carrier on the table and opened the door. She jumped out and started to zip around the examination table. When the vet put her hands out, Baby jumped right on and bruxed at her. The vet said she was the most unusual temperment she's ever seen, and was amazed at how much she enjoyed the handling. When she was done, Aaron told her to come and she jumped right into her carrier to go home. We've realized how wonderful she really is, and can't get enough of showing her off! I know that with a lot of rat shows you can enter your animal for temperment judging, is there a way to do that with Chins? Answer: I've never heard of personality judging for chinchillas, but I know it certainly is important in one's daily dealings with the little furballs! Answer: No, no temperment testing shows for chins. I am glad they are both doing so well Answer: That's great to hear they are doing well Answer: That's awesome news! You've made really great progress with her.. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
