"Baby" Update - chlorpalm thread.
Question: Hey guys. It's been a while since I asked about the chlorpalm dosage and did an update about baby. It'll be 2 weeks since his teeth trimming on wedensday. He's lost about 40gr and still isn't eating any foods on his own. This weekend he started drooling again so I'm scared of maloccollusion (sp?). I plan to call the vet monday when they open and move up his appointment and request some x-rays. Wish us luck!! Lisa Answer: Good luck - let us know how Baby makes out Answer: Poor Baby, I'll be thinking warm, healing thoughts for you. Answer: How much have you been feeding him? And is he pooping? I have just finished handfeeding my brat. She was eating on her own, but I was very concerned about stasis and ended up handfeeding her. She was eating about 18cc a day. I had the most luck with Critical Care mixed with prune baby food, pineapple juice (probably not neccesary in your case as I was afraid of a hairball), powdered acidophilus, and Pedialyte. I can give specific amounts if you need them. Hazel took the mush quite willingly once I switched to the prune food (thanks Carleen! ) from carrot food. You definitely need to stop (or at least slow down) the weight loss. Good luck on Monday...I hope that Baby is feeling better soon. Answer: Thank you for the nice thoughts. I've been feeding Baby 30cc'sor more of food per day. I'm using ground up Mazuri with organic babyfood, calcium and acidophilus. This is the 3rd experience with syringe feeding and this mix has always worked well in the past. He is pooping (thank god, I don't need to go through 2 months without poo again - different chin.) My vet wasn't in today and I didn't want to waste my time with the others. They'll pretty much look at him and say let the other Dr decide tomorrow. If I had an emergency I'd see one of them..but it's not necessary right now. So we'll be going in tuesday at lunch. I'm going to try to up his food to 45 cc's. 30cc's has always been enough in the past to maintain weight...I can't figure out what's going on. Answer: Baby is maintaining his weight now. I switched from fruit based babyfoods to squash which contains WAY less sugar, and he seems to be enjoying that. His front lower teeth had to be trimmed now because of him not chewing on stuff. My vet it closed til tuesday, at which time I'm going to have a chat with him about what's next, and then probably see Pam's vet who sounds amazing Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
