I made a couple of beds for the cats for Xmas today, amongst all the cleaning and cooking:

The large one is 26" diameter and the smaller one is 19" diameter. It took 3 pounds of stuffing to fill them both up! They have zippers on the side, so can be emptied and washed.

Thanks guys! They're dead-easy to make - only two pattern pieces. I ran both up in a couple of hours and then stuffed them while watching a bit of television last night. Lizz, I've thrown the stuffing bag out, so I'm not sure what brand of stuffing, but it's 100% polyester and comes in a huge 3-lb bag which cost me $12 at Fabricville here in Halifax. It's extremely thin batting rolled up, so it's easy to pull and fluff before stuffing the beds.

Sue, I saw that fabric a couple of months ago and was just looking for an excuse to sew with it! They also have that pattern in purple, so I think I'm going to make another large one of that, as well, with a light purple top, after New Years.

Wow, you're the second person who's asked me about making beds for them...hmmmm, maybe I shouldn't have said how easy they are to make, now I can't charge the earth for them!

I've got a few things on the go (web work for a client) after the New Year, plus have promised my kitties a couple more beds so everyone has their own, but I'm going to see how I'm situated in a couple of months. Would you still be interested?
