Some cats are so hard to photograph! We have to take pics of every cat that we get into the shelter and sometimes I'll take 10 pics of the same cat and never get even one with their eyes open! Were you using a flash? I find that's when I get the closed eye pic..
Kaymen is a pretty cat with her eyes opened or closed!
