Question:
im very interested in making treats for my ferrets with the thought in mind they would also be great for cats. the reason is i used to use old mother hubbard cat treats and the ferrets LOVE them but they are now discontinued so will run out soon.
would anyone on here be interested in trying a new homemade(possibly organic or mostly) and handmade cat treats?
i made a version today but i wasnt thinking too much about the fat content and only put in 2 tablespoons of hemp oil (omegas) so only the dogs really like them. which is good since my very fussy princess will do flips for these new treats. if this works out i may make this into a business since i could market a "rodent" diet and treats for these types of animals as well.

Christina, that sounds like a fantastic idea and I'll bet it would be really successful. As you said in the other thread, nutritious treats for cats are far more difficult to find than for dogs in this city.

I've got it stuck in my head now that I'm going to make my vegan treats, otherwise, I'd buy some from ya.

no i got a call back from the company and they confirmed they have stopped making them, i have no idea why. sigh

That is so frustrating! I wonder why?! The kitties love the Salmon and Cheese ones and they were really the only treats that I felt comfortable feeding.

well i called them again today since i didnt actually talk to someone at the company they just called me and left a message. the guy i talked to seem to think that that info wasnt right and he is going to look into it for me and get back to me. so there is hope.

today i discovered technical tarter treats for cats, i bought some today and the ferrets really like them. also they are decently healthy treats!

ok its definately confirmed that OMH treats are discontinued for the time being. double grrr now i have to have up to 5 different types of treats to satisfy the ferrets instead of 1. ive made 3 different batches of treats and only one ferret likes them.
